Properties of sticks?

So I keep finding articles of the magickal properties of trees, like different kinds of trees and what each tree is good for, but in general, what are the magickal properties of sticks and twigs? I found a stick that I was drawn to, however I have no idea what type of tree it came from. So does anyone have any good info on the use and magickal properties of sticks and twigs?

The properties of the stick or twig would be the same as the tree. However, you would have to know the type of tree.

Sticks and twigs can serve as wands, kindling for the fires/ cauldron.

I had used drift wood at one point for use in campfires.

As for magical properties I'm not quite sure without knowing the wood, but sticks and twigs can serve all kinds of craft purposes. I've used them in altar decor, utilized them as wands.

Their use can be taken further if knowing their wood type. Birch can be used for protection, oak for strength..

They can be utilized in the making of witche's ladders.

When it comes to symbolism, referring to a tree means 'this plant and any or all of its parts'. Any part of a plant being used symbolically can be used to represent the qualities of that plant as a whole.

In herbal medicine, specific parts of plants have different chemical properties so that is why specific parts are referenced. This is very important to be aware of as there are many plants out there which have some parts that are helpful, and other parts that can be lethally toxic. Or some parts that are toxic when raw but change when cooked, dried, or given some other sort of processing.
