What qualifies as a Wand?

I was thinking about it and began to wonder, what can qualify as a wand? I read in a book once that anything can stand in for a wand weither it be a wooden spoon to your pointer finger. I just wanted to know if all wands have to be made of wood or if it really can be made from other elements.

I bought a couple rose quartz points to serve as wands. They work as well as any wood wand I've made, though I prefer the ones I handmade.

It is my thoughts that anything that can be utilized to direct energy can be used for a wand.

Take an incense stick for example. While I haven't tried using one, I'm sure it can serve that purpose. Especially if you need something in a pinch.

My two cents.

so as long as it serves it's purpose, many things can stand in as a wand? I guess that seems reasonable. I just wasn't sure because all the wands I've seen were all wood.
