Any ideas?

I recently found out who my bio family is, and a cousin said that she heard from many that my birth mom and her descendants have been into witchcraft a long time.. anyone know of Kathleen Brown or Browns from past old or new

Unless someone has authored books, taught many students, or has otherwise made some major footprint in the community, it's not likely many of heard of them where witchcraft is concerned. There are many, many practitioners of magic and witchcraft who remain entirely unknown, practicing in solitude or even in small groups, and their fame ends at the boundary of their friends.

As stated above, you probably won't find much luck with that. If you live in a really, really small town, they sometimes keep historical family records but even if you have luck there, witchcraft probably won't be documented. Your best bet is asking your family about their lineage.
