Primrose vs. Rose

Is Rose similar enough to Primrose to be substituted for Primrose? I know that Rose is an acceptable substitution for any flower but I'm trying to go deeper than that. That is, if Rose were not the catch-all replacement flower, could you still use it as a substitution for Primrose? Also, what other flowers can be substituted for Primrose?

I wouldn't substitute primrose with rose because rose is more decorative in fill in than primrose being more fully ceremonial. Perhaps bluebell, but more on the decorative than an attribute to magic.

Rose and primrose might be different but do not let the looks deceive you. I do not see why rose cannot be used as a substitute for a primrose. They share very similar magical properties. They both provide protection, help with love, and aid with individuality. Rose is often seen as a common substitute for most flowers. They can capture the eye or they can pierce your skin. To each their own. As far as I thought with shielding, bluebell and primrose are ok for outdoor decorative and for field casting, but yeah. A mild heart attribute is faster than a shield, and rose and primrose can double as a quick bouquet compared to a rose less bluebell, primrose bunch. I tried.

Also, without primrose, rose can help with a quick empathic uplift, if the point was for primrose was for protection, as I thought it would count as.
