Allie Cat; that's why you don't tell them "witch hunters are coming after me", you tell them that someone has threatened your life. If they laugh at you for that then I'd suggest going to the police station with a lawyer and trying again, but instead of talking to a patrol officer ask to speak with the Chief and inform him of the person who laughed at you as well.
Threatening to kill or otherwise harm an individual for any reason other then self defense is illegal at least here in America. If you're not in America then I can't speak for you, but here in America their are in fact laws to protect people from such threats.

I'm just saying police ask a lot of questions,
but yeah if someone does something that threatens your life call the police.
They do ask a lot of questions, but all they need to know is Who, When, Where, How, and Why.
Who; the person that threatened you,
When; the time that the person threatened you,
Where; the location that you were threatened at,
How; what they said to threaten you,
Why; the cause for them threatening you.
You don't have to say "He threatened me because I'm a witch", you can say "He threatened me because he THINKS I'm a witch" and then rather then the police thinking you need to go to a nuthouse they may think the person who threatened you needs to go to the nuthouse and then they may call the person dangerous and try harder to arrest him.
Same with if you are threatened for being a vampire, just say the 'hunter' THINKS you are a vampire and regardless of whether or not you really are one you aren't lying. If they threatened you for being what you are they obviously must THINK that's what you are and that is all the police need to know.
They may ask a few questions like "Were there any witnesses", "Did he do anything to make you feel your life was in immediate danger", "Did he hurt you", "Do you know if he's been doing any kind of drugs or drinking an alcoholic beverage", "Did anything happen to lead to his threatening you" or "Do you have any kind of history with this guy, such as friendship, dating, relatives, etc." Etc. All this is to find whether or not arresting him will be easy, dangerous, whether or not you did anything wrong, and even whether or not he should be arrested due to the possibility of framing.
With these questions it's best to be honest, but saying something like "He threatened me while I was casting a spell/ritual/curse" etc. is probably a bad idea. I wouldn't say mentioning any spirits, angels, demons, or premonitions that may have warned you of the event happening is a good idea either.
Sometimes the truth is not the best way or maybe you can still tell the truth but it is not the full story. If you call the cops and say someone is trying to kill you and they get the person/Witch Hunter and ask questions. They'll put him in the nut house. Of course if they get the little card that says they have the right to kill, then you can't do anything with the cops.
What little card are you talking about? I don't believe there is such a thing that would allow them to bypass the law and kill whoever they want. At least not in America.
And I do believe honesty is the best policy, but that doesn't mean you can't word things in such a way that you don't sound insane. It's not a lie that they THINK you are a witch if that is why they threatened you, so you don't have to say "I'm a witch" you just have to point out that that person THINKS you are and by saying they THINK you are a witch you IMPLY, but don't actually SAY, that you are not one even if you are. Thus you are not lying, you are just wording things in such a way as to most benefit you during that particular situation. This is one of the great many magics of wordplay. lol :)
We are assuming that this person is from the United States. In other countries, such as certain African countries, witch hunters are a very real problem. A very real, and not imaginary, problem.
Let's keep keep cultural relativity in mind, please.
