If I was a spirit I would probably find it rather unpleasant to be forced back into my moldy, decaying body and would be quite displeased towards the one attempting to control me as such. Just sayin'.
Its very unpleasant, even dragging a spirit back from its final resting place is unpleasant, thats why when practicing traditional necromancy there were always protective circles on the ground enscribed with the names of God and his angels and always chants for summoning, biinding (forcng the spirit into one place and form and keeping it from lying), and banishing. The most imporatant thing to know in summoning is how to protect yourself and banish the entity back to where it came from, after all, if you dont manage to summon a spirit, you can try again, but if you fail to get rid of the entity it may cost you dearly.
I am quite late coming into this thread. and yes anything dealing with conjuring any type of a spirit for any reason, is necromancy. unfortunately necromancers have been given a bad rep ( due to most recent fictional novels written) while entertaining, they are not accurate. I know this because I have been speaking to the dead and spirits my entire life. Not all necromancers are aware that is what they are doing. I consciously blocked it when I was 5 or 6, but through dreams they stayed in contact with me ( I am 40 now).
also I need to add, anything involving trying to communicate with spirits or the dead is definitely dangerous, spirits are tricky, some have no idea they are dead at all, and can get quite mad and frustrated. some of them lie, just to get attention and claim to be a passed loved one.
not all necromancers can actually "see" them as we see each other, some do clear as a bell, others dont. some use writting, some use deep meditation, and some just solely go on their third eye.
if someone feels they have necromancy gifts, they shouldnt be fooling with them lightly and they should always use a protection spell. My home has been cleansed with prayers to Arch Angel Micheal, and I have salt all around the perimeter of my property, I also always say the 23rd psalm before doing anything, because yes things can go terribly wrong.
weather you believe in God or not isnt an issue in using prayers, prayers have power, just as spells, and rituals and songs, if someone thinks they are being bothered by a spirit, the best way to get rid of them is to say " in the name od Jesus christ I command you to go into the light" 3 times. they will go into the light and leave that person alone, but that doesnt mean they will stay there, they may come out and go to find someone else.
spirits also have the ability to manipulate the young, and get them to do things they shouldnt. some are tricksters, some are honestly just seeking help, some are lost, all of them want to be heard, and when a necromancer starts to awaken to thier gifts, it's as if a foghorn goes off over them to the spirit world and they run to them. many necromancers suffer from migrane headaches and ringing in the ears, because when they dont have it under control, it's like a stadium filled with people is in their head. the spirits all want to talk at once.
The correct spelling is Micha-el. Read the book Angels: An Endangered Species. Countains tons of info that can help with situations involving demons or angels, or just spirits. Either way I would recommend reading it.
necromancy is shadow magic and your powers are usually placed into an item because of how hard it is to control but you powers are charged by the death around you and most necromancers caults are usually in graveyards
you are incorrect in your information, necromancers and mediums do not get their powers ( or as I call them gifts) just from objects. it doesnt work like that, and also it's not Shadow magick either. it's not magic at all. it is something we are born with, most of us at a young age of learning "ghosts are not real" block the ability to see and speak to them. or they are told their imaginary friends are not really there, so they block.
as we get older the veil goes away and we are forced to accept the gift we were given, because it is a gift and we have great responsibility in using it. ouija boards and somone conjuring the dead is NOT necromancy, that is a dark magick that cannot be controlled. a necromancer is approached by whatever entity feels the need to say something, they do not conjure specific spirits. and that can be the spirit of anything from a dead animal to a complete stranger.
only through meditation and relaxing can we enhance what we do. also most of the time spitits bother us while we are sleeping because that is when our guards are down and we are the most relaxed.
when you conjure, you cannot be sure who you are actually pulling through, and yes spirits can become dangerous( not as in stab you dangerous) but they lie, play tricks, and some are plain out bad, getting rid of a conjured spirit is far more difficult then a lost spirit who has found a necromancer and asks for help that cannot be given. and that is the truth of it, they just want to be heard, and they seek out mediums aka necromancers to help them.
