Kaegan, what exactly are the rules of magick and alchemy?
And what is the punishment for breaking these rules?
And just because that last question kicked my curiosity,
who is it that delivers this punishment?

As soon as I saw breaking the laws of alchemy and humoculus I immediatly thought of full metal alchemest XD sorry
Quite alright. ^_^ but yeah everything has laws to abide by. Nature, man, life, magic, and in some cases when you find them alcheimey.*I know typing on a phone sucks with big fingers*
My advice is, if you somehow manage to create one successfuly. Then make sure you have all your info covered and that you have a backup plan or failsafe so noone gets hurt.
Well they very depending on the type you practice.
What happens when you break the rules well it could be veeeeeeeery bad karma for you or ur family.
As to who deals out the punishment...well I guess that would also depend on what magic ur doing *tantric ^_^* lol

Hmm trying this again... my post seemed to get cut off?
I think a lot of the posts are missing from this thread... someone get banned/leave?
Anyway, I will throw in my 2 crazy cents as this is a topic I've struggled with from a very young age. I believe that fiction has its own existence, its own plane (unrelated to the astral plane but the astral is one way to get there) where these characters are very much alive. I haven't really developed my theory fully, but it is based on the fact that thoughts are energy, and if you put enough thought into creating a whole new existence it WILL be created. The physical is too limited to hold a whole world created in my imagination, but this world does exist. Many writers will tell you that after a while a story starts to write itself (sounds like the plot to a horror story, lol), myself included.
"In infinite space, even the most unlikely events must occur somewhere." (Max Tegmark)-- This quote is my life. It pretty much sums up every belief I have. Given the right conditions, fictional characters could be brought to this life, but that 'somewhere' for many of our desires is not where we are currently.
I have found the easiest way to bring a fictional character to this existence is through Chaos magick, mainly servitors. I have a servitor in the likeness of my favorite fictional character, but that is all he is: a likeness. He is not that character. I often meditate on 'fictional' worlds to speak with their wisemen, as crazy as that sounds lol. I would not being going to Spongebob for help, but I'm sure Gandalf would have many words of wisdom to offer.
I apologize for the babble and making you all cringe in horror XD Whoops my crazy slipped out a bit. In short: nothing is impossible, but not everything is possible here.
LOL Kinari. *grabs my japanese sword and cuts Gluttony in half, heals fast and eats me (me: ahhhhhhhhhh noooooo, don't eat me!! Gluttony: Yum yum, women are tasty ^^)* lol sorry
Wow, this does sound pretty interesting.
In fact, I have a few questions of my own.
1> The host...does it have to an alive person or can it be dead?
2> Does the host have to be a human or can it be an animal (like a cat, dog, horse, etc..)?
3> What are the consequences of bringing a 'character' to life?, for lack of a better term.
And regarding Kikuyo's post:
1> How exactly would a 'fictional' plane be created?

A host can be anything, though an ideal host is one with plentiful and ever filling energy (an alive thing, a human for example), and it also depends on what kind of energy it needs/wants. Like, we always hear of entities feeding off fear or anger, etc. I have never heard of an entity sucking a host to death outside of fiction, so I say that it is safe but rather uncomfortable to be a host.
And the creation of fictional planes depends on how much thought you give them. It would be like a landscape thoughtform instead of a humanoid (or other being) thoughtform, and it would take a considerably larger amount of energy and passion (to create a whole little world as opposed to one being). I'm speaking from an artistic standpoint; the places we create in our imaginations when we write and dream. If you've ever really gotten into a writing project you know how alive they can be, or film or painting or anything else that allows you to fully express your desires. And with popular books (ie: Harry Potter, Twilight) there are millions of people PLUS you putting in your energy and love of the world in the pages. Your imagination is very much alive but we have to know and respect its place and purpose in the given moment.
I always knew it. It's about time that it could happen. Can you travel to these planes? I know i might sound like a child, but is their a way to get to like Oz?

Oz is a very well developed place, due to everyone all over the world who has seen the classic :) It was an amazing movie in its time and it sparked so much imagination. Yes you can get there, through meditation and astral travel. My person technique is that I like to do yoga, some weird pose to distort my perception of up/down and such. I love yoga in tandem with meditation, and I ask my guides, divinity and such to please take me to the place I wish to go. I also do meditation journeys but I find it hard to focus and let go a lot of the time. It takes practice, but to sound cheezy: If you have faith, the Universe will take care of the rest. I have many, many strange and outlandish views on this topic that I don't want to flood the place with XD
You could visit Klingons, Jedis, Harry Potter, Hobbits, Edward Cullen, whatever really. They are real but they are not real here, where you are now. It's all about getting the right conditions to bring about the interaction. Some of these conditions are a freedom and openness of the mind, creativity, hope and belief. I feel like I'm not explaining it well, like making it seem so huge... It's not this big Hollywood happening, it is subtle shifts and inner strength. There has to be desire; I have always felt there is more to reality and our paradigms than we realize.
Some people claim to talk to God, others 'negative' deities... these are no more real than Gandalf, James Bond, mermaids, Dorothy or whoever. They are beings that we have been exposed to for much longer and finally accept as existing, egregores of a sort. The gods do not live on Earth, but they certainly manifest themselves here, just as the Wizard of Oz has done through movies. I'm not saying we'll worship the great god Toto, but you certainly could if you want. It is no more crazy than worshipping or communicating with anything else.
Have I lost everyone? Is Kikuyo officially crazy? :X
