Entity is one of those go-to words, for anything thought to have some intelligence or presence of its own. God, animal, spirit, plant, man, thoughtform, unnamed forces, etc. It doesn't have to be "living" in a scientific way to be an entity, and I think too often that people mistake entities for physical flesh and blood manifestations :/ And that's where the disappointment or "can't" comes from. :(
i am not a proffesional at this topic and honestly i don't know why i ever react but if you summon something and you don't see it it doesn't mean its not there
or (correct me if i am wrong) but i believe that when you summon something your chanse it big that it will appear in the astral realm or in you dreams or stuff like that
and if you are new i suggest you first start on making a shield for protection for negative or evil forces cause for all you know you summoned a poltergeist or a demon just waiting to strike at you when youre not looking
or even possess you(again correct me if i am wrong)

Magic does not literary mean casting, summoning and used for revenge, learn that there are things in life that you can do without magic and to have experience in spells is to learn the consequences of the spell and it is also for you to train yourself in making theories.... the more you get exposed to this knowledge and the deeper you go in every kind of spells you do, the more likely you would understand what the real purpose of the spell... Spells are not just to be cast just because you want it to happen, there are life problems that you can do without a spell: divorce, love, suicide, possession... are examples to what i am saying... even money...
If you truly understand a spell, you would understand the ideal lesson in it that will help you in your problems.... And to perfectly cast a spell is to know the consequences and the reason for you to cast this spell.... Not all spells have chants in it, or you need to use a wand... Real spells are the spells that rise from nothing out of nothing but the light of knowledge from the person....

I second pendylady fully. Make sure you have good foundations first. Start with the first step, and work your way up from there. You can't start out at the top otherwise you'll end up under the bottom. (possibly in a coffin)
Necromancy on the other hand NOT!
Few deal with real necromancy and know how to use it.
Too many people think just any book will lead them to necro magick and those people either fail or get hurt.
I suggest a mentor. He/she will help you with your development in magick.
in my defense i said google necromancy. i never said to practice it. its ok to have an interest in it, but not to get invlolved. it is dangerous and i agree with Wudang.
