And my whole point is that, Everything you've stated so far is so far off the trail of any book I've ever read, which is what you clearly claimed you learned from "but I had to take parts from books, sites, and people... That to me sounded like too much work after I was done. "
Also, the only time a circle should be cast widdershins or counter clockwise, is if you live in the southern hemisphere. The whole point is to Mimic the movement of the sun, when this isn't possible, you go with the clock, as a guideline.
I'm not stating that my way is perfect, or that it's completely right. Funny how defensive you got when all I did was post a simple correspondence chart of the moon phases.
Whether the moon influences you personally or not, the Circle Stays The Same! It's your energy, yes, but it's a specific energy that is programed with a specific intent. It has nothing to do with the moon. Posting things such as "All powerful and perfect" makes you sound rather pompous too. The attitude isn't needed. Forgive me for trying to show a different side to the things you are just letting randomly come out through your posts. I've very tolerant and very accepting of many things, however, disrespect for sharing the knowledge I have and being referred to as "she" really gets my goat. I've been practicing a while now and the whole reason I'm here is to teach beginners. So the insults need to stop right now.
Also, I wasn't stating that using salt is "bad" I said it's messy and if you are a beginner and your parents don't know, don't you think it's common sense NOT to be messy so it's easier for your parents to find out?
Your posts are starting to show a lack of maturity all around, if you take everything a person says as a personal attack on here, then magic in general isn't going to be for you. Your lack of patience shows lack of maturity, which both influence your magical practice. You need to find some balance within my dear, and work from the bottom up all over.
Just like how your overreacting? It doesn't matter if someone is grown up enough to speak there own mind, but it does matter who sounds right and what not. We all still have a long road ahead of us and a long time to learn about magick. So stop acting like you know everything about it.
I don't know everything about magic. I never claimed to know everything about however, this is the basic stuff that I actually teach to young teens and kids on this site. Goddess forbid someone give you an alternate option to go about doing something because you attack them like a rabid animal. I'm far from over reacting, I'm actually quite calm. Forgive me for trying to keep people from getting confused by your post. I look at things from a practical point of view and because the majority of the people on this site are teens who are new to magic, and are still hiding it from their parents, telling them that using salt for a circle casting is just going to make it easier for them to expose themselves rather than giving them their privacy to learn and come to terms with what they are learning, so when they are ready they can adequately hold a conversation with their parents, and explain their practices to them without having to fear any kind of repercussions.
Your post may be good for those of us who have been doing this for several years, but those who are just first starting out, you are going to confuse them. That's all I'm trying to say. Being a person who takes the time to teach the basics to people, I know it's difficult to break things down to a point where people who are young can understand it. I just don't feel like your post does that, and tried to break it apart so the younger teens on the site can actually comprehend the level at which you are speaking on.
Untold, I'm agreeing with Silver. You should really do LOTS more research before you come in and teach people something like this. You're the first source I have ever heard this form from so I really don't know where you're getting this. I suggest any members needing to learn about circles talk to someone of more understanding such as Silver who has plenty of experience and who is an actual priestess of her tradition.
I have been practicing magick for over 30 years now and I can tell you from experience that not everyone knows everything and if they say they do then they are not being honest.. But I do know that Silvervixen herself has been practicing Magick for along time and she in fact does know what she is talking about..Now before oyu start trying to discredit what I am saying then take this into mind..I have been practicing Magick since I was 8 years old. and I can tell you that as much as you would like to prove who is right and who is wrong on this topic I suggest you go into reading and researching fully and not just on the internet but reading books and learning more before you try teaching something that will confuse our new members to this site..Each one of that are Priest/ Priestess in our Covens have had enough experience of not only the knowledge but teaching as well..I do agree with Silver on this topic and may I suggest that you think about your attitude and your words before you post them..

My teacher (Mrs Marshall long ago departed) taught me to cast a circle; but nothing I have read on this site is anything like what she taught! I was taught that. for full protection, the circle was not just a ring! It is more like a sphere! My teacher would cast a circle around, above, below. I still do it that way. Maybe I'm wrong. I don't know, because I have never read about casting a circle.I only know the way I was taught.
Brysing, The way that you mention is very similar to the way that I've learned how to cast as well. I learned to cast an electric blue ring of energy that hovered above the ground, once you were done you were to visualize it turning into a sphere of protection. I've also heard of using salt, and markers such as candles, but the circle itself was still made of energy, the candles and salt were just as I said, markers for the basic outline of the circle, and weren't the actual circle itself.

Yes, indeed! Like a blue "mist" that you are inside of. That is it exactly! For a while there I thought I might be doing something wrong! With all these descriptions.
Because I don't actually cast many spells, a few for help in healing for friends and relatives. Mostly meditation, and for my own good health.I keep the rituals for the sabbats, but that's about it really.
I myself was taught to visualize astrally traveling to a blue star over head and beaming the energy back to my physical self.
This would be symbolic of using energy from the higher self. Then to do the kabbalistic cross. And then hold my arm chest high and imagine a blue flame erupting from my finger(or tool) while moving in a clockwise motion.
Well the last time I cast a circle, was many moons ago. But I believe I just visualized a circle in my head. But I stopped casting circles a while ago.for the reason of I don't see the need for one if I'm doing a spell, my working with spirits I use a circle to keep them there but that's about it for my usage
