lol It's called the astral body, when it falls back into your body in an abrupt, unintentional way you may very well get a few different sensations that you may not enjoy.
As for when you're lucid dreaming, you're just waking up. Lucid dreams are dreams confused with reality on account of them being so realistic. Now, sense your dreams are just what you're thinking about when you're asleep, the way you wake up may differ. It's really just how your brain perceives the waking up process at the time, and in that moment, you perceived it as falling.
This is exactly what's been going through my mind lately. Could I have astral projections without even knowing? I always thought that I was projecting after consulting a meticulous and extensive dream journal. Yet I still I seem to discard it thinking that I had no real control and werent conscious enough, although I could recall them clearly as a memory from reality. That's how I get so confused at times, when I can't distinguish a memory from a dream and the real world. I would ask people for instance, about something I thought happened, a memory, but it turns out I just dreamt it. It feels like I'm living two different lives, each with it's own experience, memories, love, hate, adventure etc. So i tend to think I am not projecting, because everytime I try I fail, but then I have these weird random states which I file of as intense dreams, but when I compare them to my usual lucid dreams, the difference is immense. Especially the ascending and descending nature and encountering of weird things. I ran into a field of things in one "dream" and it felt like they almost killed me. They were sucking everything out of me, it was terrifying. I was falling in a few also, but i seem to push myself up again until i'm falling up, then it's all upside down. These dreams seem to occur after sex. usually. I'm highly into sex magick, so i rarely spill my seed, try to keep the sexual energy inside me, it creates weird experiences in simple things, especially nature. Anyway that could be fueling these dreams that I think could be astral projections. Im not sure. Like I said when I try to project I fail and fall asleep, thoughts running wild and amok. Im truly facinated by this subject so please excuse my clutter of a writing.
Hmm!,its great ,fun and sometimes scary, cos ur emotional state still looks and feels intact.i've experienced this b4,but i dnt knw,it is called Ap.u are in full control of urself, cos u cn choose to fly and amazingly,u would.but i think travelling farther is advisable as some are scary of not returning to their body.leaving ur body is just like vibration that extract ur soul out of ur body,u cn also choose to return anytime.so ultrotter, if there is anything u wish to knw,u cn inbox me .
I also saw my second body lying down.one needs carefulness.but there is one thing,u tend to b travelling farther than ever unless u force urself out of sleep.
is it true when you astral project the realms u go there are boundaries and you could get stuck,l have had that falling senstation when am awake alot and l just jerk back, when walkin,on my bed

When I was a kid, I constantly had these dreams about, that I'm on top of the stairs, and all of a sudden I jump really high and I fall slowely. I have this weird feeling that if I hit the ground, I'm gonna die, it felt scary. So I usually wake myself up in the mix.
