The weather is a product of the spirits/gods and the Creator. At times They will feel pity and assist us. Some that have a connection with us will reflect our emotions in the weather. When your good friend is sad are you not sad too? But this in no way means any of us have total control over the weather and can toy with it whenever we wish. It is not ours to control.
There are many times that the sky is threatening and I ask outloud that the sky hold its rain until I reach my destination. Just as I reach my home/work it begins to pour and I duck in dry and safe. Then I thank the sky for helping me. It works 9 times out of 10. When it doesn't work, I feel the spirits were not in a very good mood and weren't up to taking any requests. I don't expect them to listen to me, but I am very thankful when they do. To me the weather reflects emotion of the "gods" or spirits of nature. After the terrible oil spill in California, the storms here have been crazy. Mother nature is attempting to cleanse itself from our harm done and it is very angry!
Take pride that you have picked up magickal practice, but never lose sight that nature itself is not our property. We are a part of the whole of nature. We must work with it, not command it.
Its the spirit of nature with us,that keeps us in tune with the elements. It always seems if I do something proper then the sun will always shine bright.yet if i do the opposite then heavy rain will be the order of the day.if i play a couple of songs with rain in them then it will rain.its just about being in tune with nature,on the right track.those are my beliefs and experience with the elements.
Wizhard. When you start believing that the lyrics of popular songs are magical spells, there is little hope that you will learn anything to do with magic.
songs are one of the strongest spells you can get,its words that are a spell doesn't matter how they leave your mouth, its you who has a lot to learn, you think god doesn't listen to songs.
Words, by themselves, only have the power to influence only those who pay attention to them. And it is rather pompous to think anybody is paying attention before you request it.
As for creators and so forth controlling weather, I don't know about that. I'm not much for worship and don't really hold much stock in divine powers pulling the strings. Physics explain weather pretty aptly, and while you can give it a nudge altering huge systems is... well, nonsensical. And if you could, then maybe you should consider the far-ranging ramifications of altering such massive weather systems before you create something along the lines of the dead zone in the Gulf of Mexico, or any of the various hot/cold fronts that are screwing with weather patterns.
Weather is huge part of nature Awake. If you believe in the power of nature being a living force, than you must consider that weather is apart of it. I don't believe it is all controlled by one divinity. If it did, it wouldn't be so chaotic at times. What you call "energy", I call "spirit". If the energy has life, it is spirit. And anyone who can look at a storm and think it doesn't show emotion, is blind in my opinion.
I will consider scientific explainations of weather conditions when meteorologists can actually predict the weather properly. I don't know about you, but every weatherman and even the national weather service has been "warning" my area of severe thunderstorms for the past two weeks and not one has come to pass. Face it, science only tries to understand and predict the weather. But they are as incorrect as a cheap fortuneteller sitting on a corner.
Oh, I don't think weathermen are worth their salt either. But "angry" nature, or other such expressions of emotion is as open to interpretation as the ramblings of the madmen at the weather channel.
A poetic metaphor? Certainly. Fact? Debatable.
There are patterns to things, and perhaps there is a sentience guiding it. Perhaps there are just so many factors that it is rather impossible for any one individual to predict perfectly so we invent explanations like our ancestors.
