I think having a pagan parenting section of the forum would be a nice addition. I have two daughters that are 11 and 7. Since birth they both have been exposed to my path on a daily basis. I try my best to teach them about the many different paths and religions of the world, emphasizing how they are the same in many ways but different when it comes to specifics and details. Many pagan parents do not teach their children to be a pagan, instead we expose them to all types of things and leave the decision up to them which path or religion they will walk.

One of the first things my children picked up from me was the magic of chanting and music. From before they were born I have chanted and sung to my little ones in protective ways. I also played a vast array of music for them at different times for different reasons. One of our favorite things we still do together is to chant before bed;

"Listen to the lord and lady call their children in the moon light."

Neither of my children have ever suffered from nightmares or monster issues to this day.

Music can also help teach children to meditate. Many times before naptime I would sit with my girls and play relaxing music in the background while we would stretch out our bodies. Softly counting backwards to the beat of the music much like a chant, I found it helped them to clear their minds and be ready to rest.

Celebrating the different pagan holidays is one of my children's favorite things. At these times the possibilities are endless and they fit easily into the seasonal items available. From painting eggs to decorating a yule tree the crafts and activities you can enjoy with your children never stop all the wheel of the year long.

Just remember not to over stress yourself or your children when it comes to being a pagan parent. No parent is perfect and no child is either. We all learn at different paces.

Many Blessings
