vampire

is just a name as you may know blood is life that is why we use it in so many spells it symbols rebirth , and entrance. but the vampire is a person who is able to the obsorb that life by drinking the blood or for some obsorbling energys. a vampire a true vampire is born by demmon blood. demmon blood is a curse as you must drink more blood to stay alive. so it is in this case i say do not become a vampire they are a ablomnaiton of nature. just as we witches and warlocks and mages what ever the term u wish to use are the servants and protecters of nature.

thank you for reading my post

Strongly disagree with the post above me, for loads of reasons.

To answer the original post:

1) no there not real

2)In Legend there hideous creatures that drink blood. In modern times there sparkley things.

3)No it would not.

4) To be bitten by one was the traditional seance.

Vampires... somewhat exist... but technically all creatures like that are classed as either endangered or extinct.
Vampires were a half-breed of humans and dark-elves whom kept their demonic habits and consumed actual human blood and flesh.
Dracula actually WAS a real person. His castle is in Austria, Turkey, Germany, forgot...
There was another famous vampire, I forget her name. She bathed in the blood of young women and sexually tortured young men, especially priests are church boys to amuse her and keep her young. She lived for over 500 years until the outspread of a plague.
Vampires DO NOT turn to ash in sunlight. This only occurs if weakened by blessed items first or enchanted by a prayer, especially the Lord's Prayer. This is because it reveals their presence to God. However, they are very weak and even sometimes afraid on sunlight or bright areas as it is.
I have a bottle of Holy Water at home, blessed by Our Lady Of Consolation from Tacony, PA; still full and legibly blessed.
Every room in my house has a religious cross.
Also, you can't "become" a vampire, you have to be born that way. It is also rare for anyone these days to be a full-blood, I apologize for shattering anyone's dreams...
Though, it would be nice to live for centuries, I'm already cold at heart, death doesn't irk me. I can sense death, I've been used to it since 9/11/01

Kariak, I disagree with you about vampires not being able to hear The Lord's Prayer. No offense, but they said the exact same thing about Witches during The Salem Witch Trials. If I hear the Lord's Prayer, or see a shop with crosses in it in the mall I want to run out of the room but, that's not because I was a Witch, it's purely psychological having to do with my experiences in my early teen years. Just because your a witch doesn't make you afraid to hear the name of God, and I'm sure if Vampires really did exist it would be the same thing. It sounds like you are reading too much of Dracula and getting kind of paranoid. If vampires did exist they wouldn't just walk into your house and drink your blood. Yes Dracula was a real person and his character in the book was a combination of two different people. He did exist but, he wasn't a vampire. The only type of vampires that exist are psychic vampires. Hope this helps sort things out and no offense intended.

Kariak- I believe you are referring to Countess Elizabeth Bathory. She was not a vampire. The stories go that as a servant was brushing her hair she hit a tangle, and the countess slapped her for it. Because the countess been wearing a ring, the servant bled and the countess thought it was curing her wrinkles. Thus, she began luring and killing royal daughters from all over the countryside and bathing in their blood to prevent aging. There are of course variations of this. Eventually she went mad, was caught in the act and locked in her room until she died.

I am actully one who worships a dragon, so it is not fair to say that dragons are real. They may not be in the pysichal world however. Oh, and vampires are not real, unless you count psi vampires, which drain someones or somthings energy.

to kariac...dracula was a real person. His name was actually Vlad Tepes, who ruled transylvania in the mid 1400s. He fought to keep his country free from rule by the ottoman empire. He is considered a folk hero in his homeland even today. It is unfortunate that an irish author by the name of Bram Stoker used him as the main character in his late 1800s novel Dracula. Sadly most hear of the novel and few these days know of his actual history which has NOTHING to do with vampires.

I just wanted to point out that you cannot dispute the existence of mythological creatures on this plane yet say that angels, demons, gods and goddesses exist on it. All of it is speculation and belief based. If you wish to be so "realistic" you should say they all exist on another plane. This is not my personal belief, but I feel claiming belief as fact in either way is kind of ridiculous. There is no physical proof of any of it existing so if you are going to call it out, do it right :)

i'm temped to make a new topic entitled enough with the vampires already, but i doubt that would do any good. i love mythology, and i would like to think they're real, but i'm afraid the blood suckers don't exist, maybe in the astral plain, that i'm not too sure. there are psychic vampires who leach your energy, but you're born, not turned i'm afraid.
