One thing I'd like to add is that you can ask the moderator privately (pm is best) what topic was going on and see if they have any references for it. If they don't, they at least know who to go to for most subjects. Since mods tend to be more serious about Magick (not a requirement), they can generally tell what's real and what is not (people get an eye for it after a while).
