The "legiti learning sections" are the few covens that actually work with members and have compotent council or P/P.
The forums were supposed to be the learning sections......look at all the "Nothing is impossible, I'm half fairy, half demon, half human" threads.
Can't even do math, let alone have common sense.
The lack of location doesn't really bother me. I don't put one in. I don't want to know how close to me some of these people live, nor do I wish for them to have a clue as to where I am located.
Of course this is an "English only site". But we have members from many parts of the world. Many have only a basic grasp of English. So if they give their location as, for instance, Malaysia, we can make allowances for that. And sometimes, if they ask, even help with their English.Always remembering that English is very much a universal language! There is American English, that is as remote from my English as Japanese!
Some people don't want to put they're location because (no offense to anyone) there are a lot of young people on the site and there are creeps on the internet who like to chat and kidnap little kids and teenagers. So for example, some people just put the country they live in because it is less specific so that people can't find out who people are. Everyone should also consider the users that are pretty young a.k.a; thirteen and fourteen before people start saying that everyone should have they're location on they're profile. ( And again, I don't mean to offend anyone here. This is my opinion on this whole thing.)
I think a bio should contain some personal flare to it, as well as a bit of information about the person. I can understand why one would not want to put where they are from, but a general area helps. Personally I feel it is more ridiculous to see all the bios with absurd claims such as " I am the fallen angel of destiny come to punish you all" or any such nonsense. Some of those people have the desire to learn, but are so stuck in fantasy land that it makes you want to ignore all mails lol.
with location, while it's fun to put something there like 'in the clouds' i personally leave it blank or put in something funny because i don't like people knowing where i'm from really. perhaps in the bio they could give some actual information, i've seen many that are copy/paste of chain letters and it drives me nuts. i have plenty of people who ask me for help, normally there bio is empty, or full of really bad spelling, and the only conclusion as to why i draw from it is because they're young. i'm not trying to sound ageist, but from what i've seen, most kids/teens have thrown the rules of literacy out the window and seem to believe everyone understands them. on one hand i find it annoying, on the other it's like a crossword puzzle, i find a slight satisfaction in deciphering the 'words'. yes, basic information would help a lot, especially if someone is on here seeking help. however it isn't mandatory, and it's fun to express yourself even if it doesn't help people with certain questions.
i agree on its annoying when people either have nothing on there bio ,or they have something in texting form , and people do that in forums too. I can understand it but not everyone else can, and I dont see why people dont take the time to type up all there words, it saves time on a phone but on a full keyboard its pointless.
