Continued: All other oils can only be used to heal:
-cleansing a smell,
-healing an illness,
-heal someone cursed,
-to protect one or their family and children if necessary from a curse,

Cursing is a rare acception, reversing sounds fair though.
I learned that members of the covenant are allowed to communicate with other deities but not put them before G-d, who needs to with all the rituals etc which cover all the same things in judaism, but then again why authorize some of the crazy mainstream religious rules and central governing systems.

Im still trying to learn what i can about how much free will a person in Judaism has as to one not., its extremely tricky according to the Sanhedrin., i imagine you may know more about it then me.

Fatlip seems to believe that everything comes from the Torah. Not so! Strictly speaking, Judaism began with Abraham, and then "enhanced" by Moses. But ceremonial oils were used long before either! Certainly by the Egyptians, and many other cultures before Moses.

FatLip, I think what Sunshinerain and I have been trying to make clear is that you are speaking of one form of Holy Oil, but that it is not the only form of Holy Oil out there and Judaism is not the only religion that makes use of Holy Oil.

Your posts, and that may not be your intent, make it sound as if the only form of Holy Oil that exists is in the Judeo-Christian tradition. On the contrary, such oils are found in a multitude of ancient and modern religions around the world.

I appreciate your information on Holy Oil within Judaism, but the tenor of your posts sounds as though only the Abrahamic religions have the right to call something Holy Oil. This may not be your intent, but it is the way in which it comes across, at least to me.
