I was wondering... Can dead pets also stay familars when they were in life?
And cand dead humans also become familar spirits (if both sides agree with it)without embodyment?
I'm horribly new at this, but what lark is saying seems more accurate in my opinion. Not a huge fan of Wikipedia, but what you've taken from it is more important. Perhaps the idea of a pet as a familiar seems more, reasonable, so to speak, but the idea that a practitioner would so willing put their beloved pets and companions in the way of an attack makes me ill. If I had to watch my cats simba and Boris, or my dog Zoey put themselves in-between me and my opponent I'd have a heart attack.
In my oppinion familar needs take care of master and master needs take care of familar and should act like when one dies the other automatically dies too
I have a quick question. My familiar is a small black cat that Iv'e cared for since he was two weeks old, he's 5 now. We have a very intense bond, he is always at my side. He appears when I'm in need or distressed and is present religiously whenever I cast healing spells for my dear ones etc. As he has aged he has started developing more and more symptoms of panicky anxiety when I leave the house. I've been told he constantly frets, refuses to relax, won't eat or drink and meows by the front door. As I attend high school and work two jobs I'm not as home as often as I would like. Is there anything anyone could recommend to ease his worry and stress when I'm not there to comfort him? Thank you!
I would like to learn what my familiar is and some of the spells on this site have not really worked for me so i was wondering how i can find out what my familiar is
Wolfurry, there are reasons this comes down to belief. I do not believe that a familiar (the truncated term for familiar spirit -- not, spirit) can be a physical being, for example, but there are those who believe that they have a physical familiar. I am fine with that, as it is merely a matter of belief.
I also think that the concept is more associated with thought forms than actual spirits which come to the aid of the practitioner. But there is still a wide variance in belief in that aspect.
And yet again is what you are broadly describing: A cross between an animal totem (which some also cross with a spirit animal), a spirit guide, and a familiar spirit.
It all comes down to belief. If you believe you have (or will have, or if you want to have) a familiar, and must discover what it is, then it will probably be discovered in a similar fashion as the other types of spiritual companions: Meditation, path walking, spiritual journeying, what have you.
