I see all of your points, and I know animals kill others for food and about how their can be no good without evil. I also agree with, whoever made the point about the abusive husband, that the wife is right to kill her husband.
To the original post, my question is, why must humans whine about the fact that things aren't always nice? It drags everyone down, we all have to live this life.
silky, there is a fine line between "not nice" and just plain sick, WE ARE HUMANS!! not evils twisted beings (like the black eyed people) but yet we don't act like it...
Humans are animals. Humans try to make a distinction between themselves and the rest of animals, but I'm sure that cats also think they are the superior species, in fact I'm positive they do. Anyone who has a cat will probably agree with me. Just because we cannot communicate with other animals as we can with each other, doesn't mean they're stupid or insignificant. They can communicate with each other perfectly and they have their own place in the balance of life. The only thing we have over other animals is technology, a creation of the human race that is slowly killing the very earth that nurtures us. We are destructive. This is a fact. We are as good to this world as termites are to trees. That doesn't make us good or bad. Termites have a purpose too. We are what we are because it is natural to us. It is our nature.
And as for killing. If you lived a few hundred years ago, you would be taught how to kill, not only for survival, but for war and hunting. There are still warriors of today (military, law enforcement, hunters), and there are still countries where these things are still taught to young boys. This is normal to them, even if it is not normal or seem right to you, that doesn't make it wrong.
Enjoy YOUR life, don't focus on the negatives of all life. Life is difficult. It's a fact. And it is supposed to be. You wouldn't even know of these things happening if it wasn't for technology. Does it effect your life personally? No. So why look for something that doesn't effect your life and cause it to? Be thankful of what you have, every breath you take, and the joys you experience. Share that positive attitude with those around you. Suffering and death occurs to all of us. But what matters isn't the suffering but living the full extent of your life to the fullest, even if it ends tomorrow. Most people just exist, only few truely "live" life. Be one of the few who truly live. If there was no suffering, how would we find value in the good things? We would take for granted our blessings if life was easy. Live your life the way you feel is right instead of worrying about how others live theirs.
The tragedy of life is not so much what men suffer, but rather what they miss.
