@thorleifc Vampyrism is not fictional. Natural Vampyres feed on energy because they lack Prana in their aura. However normal people can also become vampyres by feeding on people, after a while their aura becomes a vampyric aura and they feed on people without even knowing it. Sanguine vampyres are real. The difference is, they prefer to use the energy of blood.
And well I find that very offensive, I suggest you to study the subject before you call it fluffy. What you just called fictional is very real, and RavenJordan, Amazing post. :)

I do not agree with the idea of vampyrism being fiction. It is scientifically proven that some people are born with the urge to keep up with the normal amount of energy, which they lack.
As mentioned before, these vampyres are born with less amount of pranic energy compared to others. They need energy to not only fill their aura, but also control their emotional balance. When a vampyre feeds, symptoms such as fatigue, lethargy and headaches will vanish for a period of time before they reappear, resulting in the vampyre to feel the urge to feed again. In my opinion you can imagine a box with a hole at the bottom to understand. When you fill the box with water, it can keep the water for a short period of time and then it goes empty, each time asking for more.
A recent study has been done by the professor of psychology at Athens State College (now university) which was funded by the US army MissileResearch and Development command to investigate the human energy system and how vampyres feed and their aura change.
The result of the research, which they used direct observations as well as photography for a human's aura, was that a vampyre has constricted dark aura with tendrils that expand when they want to pull energy in. And a healthy human has bright, expanded and full of energy aura (though it can change throughout a day). When a vampyre wants to feed, the tendrils expand forward and reach out to the other aura and start pulling that pranic energy in, which in result, makes the vampyre's aura to become bigger and brighter and the victim's aura to lose brightness and energy, even become smaller in size.
Regular feeding on one's energy can cause serious damages to a person's aura. This process damages the aura's core, where the aura can't produce energy as it used to do before and most certainly I could say, this can lead the victim to become a vampyre to replace the loss of energy.
Although human energy system is destructible, it is the soul or true being of a person or the energy required for daily survival. One must pay close attention to take care of it so, We all take energy in from different sources. A vampyre does the same thing but they need more energy than other people. So they also feed on people's auras.

You know, science is improving and it has already proved this spiritual energy exists. People all over the world are running tests, trying to prove what they've heard, instead of ignoring and with full close-mindness, claiming that to be a hopeless effort of trying to fit the impossible into the possible. Telepathy and what most of the people think of as "unreal" or "supernatural" are scientifically proven.
I'd suggest if anyone has any concrete evidence of something being REAL OR UNREAL , present it here. Otherwise, keep your thoughts for yourself.
However, I do agree that blood is toxic and it is highly dangerous to the body because it contains lots of antigens. Even when blood transforms happen, doctors doubt if the patient is going to survive or not. I've asked two concrete doctors and they approved. But, as our body or the body of animals is changing and, better to say, adapting itself to the nature, it could be possible that the person's digestive system has been showing symptoms of adapting itself.
If you have studied animal bodies, such as snakes, you can see they had little legs, which later on disappeared.
All I present here are scientifically proven. You can search for them.
Thank you both:) I would also like to add that most people don't drop dead after drinking blood, it can be harmful but I don't think someone's going to die just from the act.
I think it's a good post for a beginner Jordan, your writing style has improved over the years.
I think it's note worthy to mention, most don't have the donor tested or screened which is where many run into an issue. For those that believe energy can be more easily obtained via blood, they often use friends that they believe are clean. There are many diseases that can be transmitted via contaminated blood and Brysing has a good point, the wrong blood type can make a person ill which is why when one goes for a blood transfusion, the persons blood is tested to ensure compatibility.
I think another noteworthy thing to mention is that Sang Vamps usually only use a teaspoon every so often, but drinking an ounce or cup will harm you and I believe it has been proven you medical personnel. People that have nose bleeds frequently often consume there own blood, but most people would through up as the thought of drinking just a teaspoon of an-others blood would repulse them (I would be one of the people that vomit). I haven't visited the site where you obtained the info from, but you may want to try Religious tolerance .org. It does have a some valuable information on it regarding the path.
Yes Jordan, your correct. The blood associated with the vamp path has nothing to do with Renfield syndrome, however statistically, people that suffer from what is more commonly known as Clinical Vampireisim do at times decide to practice the path as a way of condoning there behavior. As far as I recall, about eight years ago, there had never been a case of one practicing the vamp path before suffering from the DSM illness.
Also, maybe a bit off topic, drinking blood has nothing to do with anemia though I have heard it was tried at one time. If the body has an iron deficiency, it will not be able to absorb the iron from blood either and doctors have found giving a person extra Iron, depending on the type of Iron deficiency, can actually kill them as it creates a type of build up, which is why Iron pills are not recommended for cretin types. I was told to take vitamin c I believe, but I don't do it.
As far as religion, yes Jordan, some do see it as such however to the best of my knoledge, the Vampyre Path is not considered an actual religion by the government and has never been given the 501C3 status at least in the USA. Satanism on the other hand, was given the religious approval. I believe it was the off shoot of LeVay's church located in NYC, but it could have been his original church in I think it was California, but don't quot me on it.
I have read some of the awake and drink sight recently. What I did read, sounded professional and non fluffy. I have not read the whole thing yet, but I think the person that put it together is pretty level headed as far as I got through it.
And no, the Vampyre path is not fluff or fake, it's a path within the umbrella term of Satanism considered a predatory path. Again, I do not know of one path formally considered a religion via USA standards.
Guys I really admire your ability to write so well and present arguments in a logical fashion
But if the underlying premise is false, then the rest of the argument falls apart.
Vampires by definition are living dead. Other psychological and physical maladies are not vampirism...they are just what they are.
People make a lot of money off this stuff and roleplaying and spending money for these things is never going to change reality.
No matter how much you want to believe you cannot become living dead and drink peoples blood to live and their souls and stuff.
But enjoy yourselves with the fictive aspects of it...i really mean that...vampires are super sexy and there is so much of this fiction out there that really it is a great exercise in imagination. I would NEVER stifle someone's imagination or chance to roleplay something.
Just be aware that some mods here would consider it fluff and may shut down this thread.
And i stand by what Brysin said too, drinking human blood in large amounts is very bad for you. please dont do that...it will make you sick.
I believe you may be thinking of two different topics thorleifc. Jordan is Speaking of the Vampyre path which false under Satanism, more formally Luciferian. Many people that chose to follow the path consider themselves Vampyre's just as many people following the wolf path chose to consider themselves Werewolf's and those following the path of Wicca chose to call themselves Wiccan. I believe your confusing the word Vampire, which refers to the fake tv people that claim to drink gallons of blood to maintain there health with the Vampyre of the vampyre path. If you will note the spelling difference, just like the word Magic refers to the stage performing people and Magick spelled with a K refers to spiritual arts performed by practitioners. In the Vampyre subdivision of the arts, spelling it with a Y indicate the spiritual realm. I feel more comfortable with people from the above paths referring to them selves as simply practitioners or one following the vamp or wolf Path as it sounds less pretentious, but some chose to use other words.
Some people that see themselves as OtherKin vamp also use the word vamp and drop the otherKin part, again I don't believe in using the words by themselves and as a coven we do try to ensure the person uses the word Path, but to each there own.
I think it may be helpful to look over the below link. The site is 501C3 and while I don't agree with everything especially as things are changing, it's not bad.
http://www.religioustolerance.org/vampire.htm
Drinking blood is medically harmful, as Brysing said. Providing youtube videos and unscientific links does not back up your defense that it is fine. Blood is okay in very small amounts, if it is free of pathogens. However, drinking more than that actually causes a reaction in your stomach which makes you vomit. Blood contains too much iron, and drinking it in larger amounts can lead to haemochromatosis- an overdose of iron in the system. You can damage your liver. You can damage your lungs. You can damage all sorts of things. Animals that do physically intake blood have specialized mechanisms to do so. You are not a vampire bat, nor a mosquito, so as a human you should not be intaking blood. Period. That is the medical backing for it. And you should not encourage others to do so, especially on this site. That does not belong here.
And yes, thorleifc , your correct, consuming a few cups of blood could make you ill, but real Vampyres only consume a teaspoon or two as I believe the above link shows. Anyone that states they drink only blood is either delusional or fluff.
The mods here are well aware of the Vamp path and it's validity, they would only lock the thread if they believe there is arguing and there is educational information being stated, not fluff.
I think you largely misunderstand the mods, and I would advise not speaking for us as a whole.
I, personally, do not find the vampire path "valid" and instead view it as "questionable". There's a lot of potential for fluff here, hence me locking the thread. It's getting argumentative and out of hand.
