A good way to help would be to join one of the many "Beginner's" Covens already in existence, get on Council & go that route. You'd be surprised most of our "Beginner's" Covens are ran by members that have been apart of this site for years and are well respected within the SOM community.
Another reason this would be a better route, is that currently Pet is not allowing anymore Covens be created & with good reason. Those of us that have been around have seen some of the craziest stuff tried as far as New Covens. Not saying that you wouldn't be capable of doing a good job, but as you can see almost every type is represented here.
If some people spent less time bashing some Covens and tried joining & helping those Covens become better. Then this site would soar in every direction.
But nonetheless wanting to help is admirable, but why not tried helping what is already here?
I've looked at all the covens. I've never seen one that is for beginners. Maybe I'm going blind. Please tell me which ones are. If Pet isn't allowing new covens why were there 5 new ones within the past two weeks? I've already decided that I'm not going to make much of a difference here. No one will allow me to say what I know except for one coven and it got deleted. You guys can stop putting down my idea already. I'm not going to try to make anything happen here.
No one is putting down your idea... if you went to the groups tab, it clearly states that "Currently no new covens may be created." . That is by order of Pet ~ Site Admin.
Beginner's groups are easy to find there is a listing on here; you can start with Raven's Gate, for the rest click on each coven and read their descriptions.
As for 4 new covens? There aren't 4 new covens, they are simply already existing covens whose membership numbers dropped low enough to place them under the listing where they currently reside.
Instead of getting discouraged and making accusations towards a site that you are currently apart of, I suggest you do some digging, and asking questions. Not expecting the members to hand you all the answers. Research an issue on your own or with "aid" will help you in the long run.
You'll find that most of your more experienced members that have the big reputations around here will tell you the same thing.
Magick can easily be learned from peers, it can also be learned on one's own by self teaching.
- Both of these methods for learning magick require questions, research and real effort.

Don't be afraid to make things happen just because we let you know that your first idea isn't going to happen anytime soon (which is the truth); figure out something else that is within your power. Create new ideas.
Before recently joining Raven's Gate (which btw is working on the very basics right now and if you hadn't wasted your time complaining you might have been able to join) I asked the Priest a load of questions about the coven. He answered me truthfully which I was happy with that and the answers themselves.
- I genuinely like Raven's Gate and I knew I would because I asked question, I did research.
I highly doubt that you would like only one coven here. Not all hope is lost. :)
Besides, within covens they often strive to become families and truthfully it's so much easier and frankly much more fun when you have an entire family to share your ideas with.
I'm still strongly against Higher Magicks. Of those nine Draggy listed, I would say Magickal Knights may be the best, however Spirit Seers and Dragon Magick also cover the basics and are helpful to beginners. Although neither state this on their bio pages, both do accept beginners.
Higher Magicks is under new Leadership and both the leaders are doing fine, The former Priest was removed which has given the Coven SO much air to breathe from. It is a coven i would recommend since the changes which took place not only a week ago
Deep Arts accepts beginners, But we do prefer you to be mature and be able to handle the magic's being taught and not be reckless,we have a wonderful family coven where all are willing to help and share with each other.
