How do you know it's oldest? How do you know the spell in the first place? What tradition is it related to? Does anyone else know this spell? How does the spell actually work, because being old is not why it works?
You can't just make random assertions like that - you need proof, or at least some better corroborating evidence than a freak rainstorm.
That sounds neat to do. As for the assistance, I think telekinesis may help. Once a person learns that, all they would have to do is focus on the element they want to influence. Another thing that may help is linking the two wills into one. Your will becomes that of the element and vice versa.
He's probably here for the actual magick, rather than stupid magick-sounding delusions. Magick doesn't need to be full of flying or time travel to be awesome and worth doing.
hi, I am new to this path and respect the elders techings. lot of things have been lost in the brutal attack on the way of wicca. but the knowedge is spread accross the globe. the magic you are describing is also mentioned in the indian magic, which is practiced even today. elements can be controled or mastered, but it takes lifetime to understand one element. the knowlege and power can only be transfered to the deserving by you're guide or master. there are instances of influsing elements, this art is known as " stambhan" in india. magic is science, and book of shadows our research paper. as my guide says, if we can train ourself to be in this very moment, with all our senses focused on one point. and then intent, it will manifest. but wil also drain us out. unti and unless we have increased our energy. its better to start in a traditional way then to concentrate on instant magic.
Wicca hasn't been attacked, and the loss of ancient knowledge has nothing to do with Wicca as Wicca is less than 100 years old.
It does not take a lifetime to master a single element, Hermetic orders accomplish it in a few years. While a learned teacher is helpful, only good literary resources and a willingness to practice and experiment.
Why in the world do self-proclaimed beginners find themselves able to speak with authority on things they haven't studied?
ok chiron, who are you to discredit anyone? have you ever tried anything like that? if so did it not work and further more how do we know your telling the truth about how long you've practiced magick and i know i shouldent say anything because i dont practice it i just came here to learn about it and maybe even try it eventully.
I'm not here to "discredit" anyone, as that would require some sort of purposeful attack directed at people. I'm here to discuss magick, which will sometimes include correcting misinformation.
You can tell that I really have studied for years from the fact that I actually know what I'm talking about and make no move to hide it when a topic shifts to something I'm much less familiar with. There are, in fact, many threads I read and keep updated on but in which I never post because I acknowledge that I don't know enough about the topic to contribute anything worth reading.
And I think I have a pretty good point in my objection last post - people who know that they are beginners, that they know very little on a subject, keep trying to write essays and give lessons and otherwise share with us the wisdom which they openly admit they haven't acquired yet. .
If you would like to know more about elements in a Hermetic order's initiatory system you should look up information on an order of the Golden Dawn. I specifically suggest looking up the Open Source Order of the Golden Dawn, since that whole "open source" thing means that they are extremely open about their curriculum.
