1. spell check please
2. what kind of amulet is it?
3. friday the 13th is not the best day to make your amulet more "powerful" because it could charge it negatively (bad luck) or positively (good luck). You might as well wait for the full moon
actually theres nothing bad about friday the 13th.... and Hecate is my goddess if you need help the message me and i can tell you how to power up your amulets. i have 2.
Hecate is very protectiveand loving of witches, grow close to her and watch your life and magic transfrom for the best.
The dark of the moon is when Hecate rules.
Hello, I am less than a year into my new life learning The Craft. To this point I haven't worked with any Goddesses and am feeling drawn to Hecate. Does anyone have any suggestions for me. I have heard that her personality can be a little tricky to work with and I definitely want to be respectful and start off on the right foot. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, and Blessed Be.
I know an operation that calls on Hecate for banishing and empowerment, it's essentially like a Hekate-oriented LBRP and can definitely help with this.
Just a couple of things to think about when working with Hecate/Hekate. Although Magic and Witchcraft are authentic to her history those attributes were later additions to her character.
It's wise not to call on her directly during the Deipnon, the night when she guides souls from the underworld. During this time she becomes a chthonic deity and will bring miasma with her on the night of the Deipnon. You can find out how to observe the Deipnon online. Although it's entirely up to you.
In terms of offerings for any Greek Deity you can't go wrong with:
Laurel
Bread
Honey
Cheese
Wine
Fruit
Fish
For incense I'd suggest Myrrh, Juniper, Rosemary and Thyme.
On a whole I'd suggest doing extensive research on her. It helps to understand a deities history when calling upon them.
her are two spells to invoke Hecate, the witch goddess. The first one I have done and works for me. The second I have not done but should work.
1: Chant...
O night, faithful preserver of mysteries, and ye bright stars, whose golden beams with the moon succeed the fires of day; thou three-formed Hecate, who knowest our undertakings and comest to our aid: ye spells and art we wise men use.
- Ovid
2:
Hecate! Crone Goddess! Grandmother of the Moon!
Wearing the black robe of night, the infinite mystery
Within which all may be known
If one has one's own eyes
Owl-eye Goddess, seer, walker in the dark,
Hold high Your lantern to share Your light with Your Priest/ess
Blessed Black Bitch, I hear Your hounds baying at truth,
Leading me onward, and I follow with Your name writ on my soul
You hold the key to all knowledge, to self-knowledge;
Hecate, Glorious, open the door to my soul!
Let me grasp the slippery knife, by my choice, by my will
Rather than by circumstance and delusion
As Your hound, I search and sort truth from illusion
I choose to cut the cords that bind us in any direction
For You tell me the mystery of right time
I will to see clearly and act from my power
Mighty Hecate, grant me the boon of power
Ultimate power: the power over the only enemy:
That which slides from awareness, from responsibility,
From the bald fact that I am not I, but all
Help me win through to Your ultimate Laws ?
That I am what I desire, and
That I can harm none but myself
I can serve none but Love
Hecate, Transmuter, transform the slippery shadow within me
To the brilliant Sacred Dark of Your essence
Hecate, Great One, bless me, Your Priest/ess,
And bless this the work I do in Your name
Blessed Be!
( INKSPELLS NOTE: PS. I know there are some dark aspects in this one so feel free to make it less dark as you see fit.)
To help invoke the power of Hecate you may light a white or silver candle. It is good to do this because white or silver candle to represent the moon and the candle in general because the torch is one of Hecate's symbols to represent a gleam of light in her darkness.
