This is the best remedy. You won't have time to stale ginger ale. The Egyptians knew of this remedy. There are one of two ways to do this. 1. Eat a whole onion and a mint leaf. 2. Slightly puree the onion with the mint. Either way it will calm your stomach. It sounds gross, and sort of is. It is very calming however, trust me!

Pregnacy sickness is like motion sickness. Ginger ale may not help, but the actual ginger tea may. Add peppermint to this, and it will calm the motion/morning sickness. Mine lasted all day too. And if you do try ginger ale again, the reason to stale it is to get rid of the bubbles. But most, if not all, ginger ale took the ginger out to save money. How stupid, huh? Canada Dry put it back in. And another, I know its illegal, but cannabis was the best thing I EVER found to help with it. Sure saved me when I was pregnant with my daughter. Just a suggestion. Theses are all safe for the baby as well. Good luck and Blessed Be...

Eat small portions throughout the day. Be sure to get enough calcium in whatever you eat. Drink plenty of fluids and rest when you need to. Have they checked your blood sugar levels yet?

Considering it is nausea you're dealing with, I've found a few interesting things for you to try. :)

You can try Crackers with Peanut butter on them. I've heard that Green Apple Jolly Ranchers work as well, since their flavor is strong, it will help tame the nausea, or get any nasty taste from your mouth. One that works for me is mint candy, mint gum, or toast. Lastly, You can also squueze some fresh lemon into your water.

Congratulations on the Baby!

Yep, all that. I've also heard mint tea but I was lucky not to have much morning sickness so I can't really speak from experience. I really just wanted to say congratulations!

I feel for you. I was sick the first three months of my pregnancy. All I did was vomit. Personally, I found that eating plain rice, plain toast, and drinking peppermint tea seemed to help calm the nausea a bit. It at least made it possible for me to actually be able to move around and feel somewhat better.

If you can , avoid anything wheat based at all costs. I made the mistake of eating wheat crackers (they were the only ones that I had on hand and I assumed they would help settle my stomach) and they made it worse. My husband's sister is an RN and she said that there is something in the wheat that can actually make the nausea and morning sickness worse.

Thank you for your many suggestions and congratulations. =)

Kts, my blood work is good. I do snack constantly. Cherios has been helping. I eat them straight out of the box. It seems that eating is the only thing that helps, but as soon as I stop snacking, the nausea returns. I can't eat all day! Haha.

I was drinking Canadian Dry. I'm not happy it has high fructose corn syrup but I was desperate. Flat or not, it didn't help =( I will buy a ginger root and try some fresh for a tea. Maybe it just wasn't potent enough in the pop.

I find the wheat comment interesting and I notice that noodles and bread do make it worse, so that makes perfect sense. In the GAPS diet, they do not eat grains because it aggrivates the stomach and intestinal walls when they're already aggrivated! Starches do the same. But I couldn't stay away from my potatoes, not with this baby. I'm craving them, I'd go insane! Haha!

I've never done any sort of drugs, I even rarely drink, of course not at all while pregnant. I only used to smoke cigarettes, but I quit a while back when we began to try for another baby. So I won't be trying the smoking thing. Although I could see how it would alleviate nausea since cancer patience use it for pain and other symptoms.

The onion puree and mint...made me feel sick just thinking about it! I don't think I'll be trying that. Although I do know that a spoonful of onion juice can help cure food poisoning and stop vomiting. So I'm sure it could help some who could tolerate the thought!

I've also found out applesauce can help, so I'm buying a big jar tomorrow!

I've been drinking teas, and all of them make me feel worse unless its ice tea with lemon. So I think your onto something with the lemon! I've been trying to drink tea because I used to drink one single cup of coffee in the morning. No more! Just the smell of coffee makes me feel sick. But tea isn't much better. So I've been sticking to fruit juice.

Yep, its official! I'm a mess. I'm just hoping it goes away when I hit my second trimester. It did with my daughter. I just had to worry about smells triggering nausea and car rides after that.

I'll keep you posted. If anyone has any more suggestions, keep them coming! I'm going to go to the grocery store with a list and try them one at a time. =)

Thanks again!

I have been there 3 times... and my heart goes to you... Sometimes blessings comes at a cost ;o) Dill is good for upset stomach, it is also a main ingredient in colic water for new borns and babies. I am not suggesting eating a jad of dill pickle (unless that is what you are craving)... but an infusion of mint and dill should do the trick... You can even hadd a tad of honey...I also found my Pregnancy multy Vitamin would trigger nausea... if taken on an empty stomach... listen to your bodie... is my best advise... Namaste

I had morning sickness all day long through all three trimesters of my second pregnancy. The fluctuation of how nauseated I felt came and went being strong at times to can't sit up or lay down because both cause the nausea to be worse and you are so tired you can't stand. As the pregnancy progressed I had to find ways to meet the babies nutrition requirements with the small amount of food I could eat. This meant eating all day or snacking on any nutrition I could. I had to take different supplements as well for calcium, iron, and other vitamins.

Not knowing the specifics of your blood work but knowing what they normally check during the first trimester, they probably have not checked your blood sugar/insulin levels unless you had existing issues. Also you may have become anemic due to the diet you stated above during the first trimester. Anemia can cause one to feel even more nauseated then they normally do. I trust you are taking your prenatal vitamins that have some iron but you may need more. Not Knowing your actual blood test results and which ones they have done; this is the best I can suggest.

First keep your stress levels down. Meditate as much as you can. Eat the BRAT diet; things that are like bananas, rice, apple sauce, toast. Add a little butter if you can tolerate on your toast. Then perhaps try peanut butter so long as there is not allergy. Expand on with other healthy items as you can. I believe you need to pump up your calcium, protein, iron, and B vitamins. You body is being taxed heavily at this point and you need to get more foods that have essential nutrients but if you can't consume these through food then you need to take supplements for these. You should ask you doctor before starting any medication or supplement during your pregnancy. You should also think about drinking vitamin water or Gatorade depending on your preference. You can water them down with water. I used ice as a way to help get more fluids because the cold drink was easier to get down and stay down as well as sip on throughout the day. There is a risk of dehydration that can also cause more nausea when someone suffers from morning sickness throughout the day.

Remember if you are/were not getting all you and the baby needed nutrition wise then more issues can arise and during the second trimester where the baby needs more nutrients as well as you. You may have to play catch up and that is never fun when you are already taxed.

I hope that the morning sickness will ease during your second trimester. Many pregnancies do see an end and it sounds like you may be already progressing there. Some refer to the second trimester as the foodmester. It is the one where typically the sickness goes away and you crave certain foods. The worst things about pregnancy is the changes and stress it causes both in mind and body and how no two pregnancies are the same. They very from person to person and within the pregnancies of a mother whom has had more than one pregnancy.

Blessings for a healthy baby and mother. : )
