Wicca and a Student

To find others who follow Wicca, or practice witchcraft or magic, your nest options are witchvox, Meetup, and other social media like Facebook. Don't forget about finding local occult, spiritualist, herbal, and other related shops. They might very well have a bulletin board or something, where they advertise or allow others to advertise, meetings, services, and more.

I am also a Student but I live in an area that is filled with a mixture of cultures- so everyone is usually welcoming of it. We still have people who bash others but it is not often. If you ever wish to talk about it. I am happy to listen. I felt the same way in high school.

I've never thought of checking bulletin boards in my local shops, next time I go I think I'll check them out. I've recently joined Meetup in an attempt to make more friends, it seems like a good idea.
The area I live in is also mixed with cultures, and everyone is tolerant, they just ask too many questions and try and poke flaws in it or crack jokes about it the same way they do other religion (this isn't them being intolerant to religion, they're all just pricks, which is fine because we all know it and I love them). One of my flatmates, was afraid of witchcraft and tarot and "Satan Worship", but another one, the only one who I've actually confessed my Wicca to (though she's probably told her boyfriend and sister by now) has been very understanding of it thus far.
It's nice to see that there are ways to communicate with witches, and that there are other young student Wiccans out there. As far as I know, I've not come across any in my university yet and hope to some day soon.

There are apparently several Pagan pub moots in Liverpool listed in the Pagan Federations's listings at https://paganfed.org/index.php/pagan-federation-districts/northwest-pf

Pub moots are an excellent place to meet other Pagans and learn about local groups to join, or to find others of like mind with you who might be interested in getting together to form a new coven.

You'd be surprised at who shares our beliefs but since they're still stigmatized we need to tread carefully. I find that talking about dreams (since mine are loaded with precognition and premonitions) and then getting a feel for what the other party is thinking. Follow the flow of the conversation and plug it in where you can. Its a slower process but the people you meet are well worth the effort!

I love the sound of that idea, working the topic slowly into conversations. It would really help with some of the people I already know whose beliefs aren't so clear to me. Thank you.

Witchvox.com can help you [but depending on your country the site might be less than helpful] you might consider finding out about school clubs and perhaps if your school has a prayer room [my school did, i would do some meditation there, met a few other pagans too] also see if your school has a Facebook or other private group for students, you might be able to lurk and find a posting for a circle [but be careful obviously] you could also see if there's a pagan pride day celebration or open circles in your area being held by local witchy shops [google Pagan Pride or your area and esbat/Sabbat circle. Eg 'Litha circle in my area'] you may not meet others at your school this way but you can meet like minded people of a similar age and branch out into a friend group. Best of luck to you.

Thanks, Nekoshema, these sound like good ideas. I have been tempted to try the Witchvox site, but didn't know if it was actually good or not, but since you've suggested it I'll give it a try. All of your ideas are good aside from the Facebook thing because I don't have Facebook. I had it when I was younger, didn't like it, and I've not had it since. And I've checked with my uni: there was a Pagan society last year or the year before, but there isn't one anymore. Oh well. But I'll definitely join Witchvox and have a look at that.
