You did it wrong. When you astral project, you have to have your body (or what the angels call a vessel) protected while you go out and travel the universe. Even though you used Jesus to keep the spirit away, sometimes using Jesus just won't work, and you have to go beyond that... This is why a series of spells are in use to keep spirits away. It is kinda like having a alarm system while your on vacation and somebody is trying to rob you.

Various cultures have different beliefs regarding the soul and travel. I think this is a matter of beliefs/perspectives clashing. I understand both sides.
One fact does remain, AP has its dangers. Regardless of the reasons why, shamans have become ill and have died while journeying. I won't get into the reasons. You're body is vulnerable, damage can be done, and you should be protected while roaming elsewhere.
Since people are on the topic of souls not being stolen and what not. I read an article online (so not sure if it's true or not) about a women who, doesn't try to ap but whenever her body gets overly tired or worn-out, she enters the stage of ap where her body "vibrates" and she sees a orange hue followed by a humming nose.
And I guess while she was in this stage this thing she saw as a massive shadow leaped from her corner and rolled next to her on her bed, and pushed her spirit out of her body.
So it didn't steal her spirit, it didn't want her spirit at all it just wanted her body and spirit separate, so my question is, what was the shadow? And does anyone believe that her story is true?

Spirits do not need defined features. They are pure energy and many enjoy remaining a more "natural" form but cannot get over or don't desire to part with the human shape and mobility. The color of their energy depends on the observer's individual perception of color meanings. So simply, it could have been any spirit (most likely low).
No matter how much we may try, there will always be some things on the astral that will always pick up off of our beliefs. We can't control this unless we are 100% unbias and "wondering". If we hold the slightest assumption, it will color our perceptions of the spiritual. This is why I chose to communicate to spirits and ask questions rather than assume. I never stop asking questions and I get the opinions of multiple beings on the same subject in order to gain the absolute best understanding I can on the topic at hand.
If you deny something exists, you will never see it. And if you believe something exists, you will find it. The key is to assume nothing, and hold an ever questioning mind. "What will I see?" "What will be said?" Wait for the answer expectantly (in this case wait to see and hear whatever comes) without premeditation of the response. Ever been totally clueless with no idea of an answer to something? That is the state you should be in!
