Awake, I know IP ban is for extreme cases. But as an admin of other boards, I know very well that most people that are banned, come right back with a new name. And I remembered a recent post by a mod or the admin (can't remember which) that stated that bans do no good because people make new accounts. So I added the option of IP bans to give options. When they come back with new accounts you feel like more of a detective than an admin/mod, having to check matching IP's and writing styles just to fix the problem and shut out the trouble maker. Some people have no lives and will go to extremes when banned.
And I definitely do not agree on age requirements. People will lie about their age and it won't solve anything. The young ones here that are actively learning will be shut out, and from what I've seen, half the frequent posters are under 18yo. You'll cut the daily post count in half if not more and then all we will have is a dying board. And that is the worst thing possible for any forum to suffer.
it could be more organized if we add a wiki,
then we could organize all the magical ancient history,
as well as the more contemporary information,
also peoples contributions would live longer.
btw, creation is infinite.
so even if you may not have some magical ability,
does not mean that other people do not.
I've been doing magic over a decade,
it can get pretty intense and unusual.
I started when I was 13,
would have been great to have something like this forum.
though I think having a wiki would make it even better...
oh and a note on role-playing,
if we're about spells of magic,
then we have to be open to all kinds.
Technically inspiration of fiction writers is from the third-eye, which may have picked-up information from other time or place, so it still exists and can potentially be localized or experienced in truth.
so we may as well have a list of many different kinds of spells,
even if some of the spells may not be compatible with certain participants self-defined limits on possibility.
The reason children think anything is possible, is because it's true.
also a scientifically and even mathematically provable fact.
scientifically quantum-physics, string and m-theory support multiple worlds, especially observer created realities,
so as the Ankh symbolizes you are the cocreator of your experience.
Mathematically, it's possible to read, write, change and move in our universe, therefore it's turing-complete and capable of computing any algorithm-idea producing it physically.
I'm sorry to say (on the other hand, I'm not sorry) that wisdom does NOT depend on age. Believing that your age is a sign of intelligence is ignorance, and ignorance only blocks learning, and therefor blocks wisdom. It's best to learn when you are young, so you are not mislead when you are older.
Also, we should answer fluffy questions, so that way the questioner actually learns the truth. I'll bet most of us had some fluff in our brains when we first saw this site. But then we learned what magic was, and were able to learn more and contribute to the learning of others. Blocking others from learning is only going to leave us with ignorant adults.
This site is for people of all ages and will always be for people of all ages. New forum titles have been created over the years by the administrator. I am sure over time we will see more forum titles added. It seems that some people have confused the role of the moderators with that of the administrator. Moderators are here to enforce the rules of the site, answer questions, and assist the admin. Moderators do not have the authority to change the way the site is set up or run.
I have been on this site since October 2007. This site has changed in many ways since my first days on it and has stayed the same in many ways as well. With age comes experience and wisdom that one can only gather through time. There will always be those who come seeking knowledge, companionship, and a way to express themselves. Sadly there will also always be those who come to role play, troll, and harass. The only thing we can do is to keep on doing our best to shine a light on the path where we are able.
