There is also a disease called hemolytic anemia, in which tha blood cannot sustain its own hemoglobin. Some referred to it as "vampirism" only because blood was needed in order to sustain life. But, what do I know... hahaha

i agree with Thunor.. i will add though it became a religion at one point and the people would kill kids and mothers and use the blood as offoring to there satanic gods...note THIS IS ONLY FOR THE RELIGON NOT THE DESISED BASED

Do not forget there is such a thing as vampire bats. At one point (somewhere in Europe if I remember correctly) vampire bats were biting people instead of the normal livestock, due to famine. This helped to further the myths of vampires :)

Indeed they did. Let us not forget that if someone sees something and forulates an opinion on it, it is useless to try to sway them in the other direction. Due to the fact that human beings have not explored every inch of the planet and documented every single thing that goes on, there is a possibility (though it is infintessimal) that somewhere vampires do exist. These people that cling to this ever-so-slight chance will NOT be swayed. We can argue on and on about "they do" or "they do not" exist, but ultimately, it is up to each individual person to choose what they will believe.
