Personified, I never "suggest we simply allow roleplayers to come to the site and do as they please" Saying that shows you missed the entire point of my post. My point was that people don't need to get butthurt when roleplayers come in. Enforce the rules, but don't act like it's a sacrilege.
I didn't miss anything. You saying "People get upset and take it as an insult to the magical community instead of simply ignoring them", "Anywhere else, this would be considered silly harmless fun" are examples of you implying that it is an issue which shouldn't be taken seriously/ should be ignored. I also never said "YOU suggested" I said "TO suggest", therefore it was not aimed at you- so don't take it personally. It was a broad statement.
We are in agreement that mods should enforce the rules. Sometimes when there are no mods in chat, people continue to chase after a role player to no avail when ignoring them would likely end it sooner.
Sometimes I love roleplayers, they can be a bit of fun and are mostly harmless, I've been saving this convo because I just thought it was so sweet how quickly this kid gave up;
from deathlord975: do you truly want to do good in the world
Me: Yes, deathlord, I do :)
deathlord975: then if you truly do then join me and my army
Me: Ah no, I'd not be into that sort of thing at all.
deathlord975: you could be a medic or a recruiter
Me: Ah no, it's not for me, lad, thanks for the offer though :)
You are very correct my dear. I believe there should be some sort of restriction placed on children. Magic, real magic is no child's play and it's important we hold this information at heart. Imagine replacing a child's toy gun with a real hand gun, all ready to be fired? I like this topic,its an issue that concern the safety of our family.

First off, the minimum age is 13, so technically teenagers and up, not children. Granted I still enjoyed playing pretend at 13, but I knew when to be an adult and when to be a kid. Even today I'm 26 and I cosplay and can be pretty imaginative but I still know the difference. There's a time and a place for everything.
Yes, some people can be pretty heavy handed in their responses, but that's because this is a site to learn and teach real magick. Rule one is no role playing, so it's understandable why some people might get upset when there's so many. Granted, asking is another matter [can I become a mermaid] or stating a belief [I believe dragon's are real] but stating for a fact you're a thousand year old vampire, on a site designed to teach, won't fly. Think of school, you are there to learn. You can joke with friends and have fun, but when the teacher says something and you rebuttle with 'oh, I'm immortal and I was there and this is what really happened.' You would get in trouble for goofing off in class. This is the internet and I know we can't make you write a hundred lines, but certain topics are serious, others are fun, so people will get annoyed when they're trying to be serious and someone makes a mockery of it.
