Thrash Metal, Neo-Classical Metal, Speed Metal, Metal, Classical (this is a broad term, to put it more specifically; I am mostly a fan of Barouque), Progressive Metal, Funk Metal, Jazz Metal (well, if you put Dave Mustaine's playing into that category)...I'm a metalhead and proud of it! I also enjoy rock, mostly the older stuff though there are some good bands around today emulating that old sound...I dislike bands being labelled pop for merely having a guitarist or two, rock is a proper defined genre. So yes, Rock, Hard Rock, Funk Rock, Grunge, Progressive Rock and some truly alternative stuff like the odd Incubus song and the Sleepy Jackson. I do adore blues however, some of the good old stuff...Robert Johnson and John Lee Hooker. Also, I am a Jazz fan and am open to Ska and Funk, even some good and powerful rap (though this is limited to only Zach De La Rocha of Rage Against The Machine, and also Eminem) My favourite bands of all time are definitely (the first two or three are in order, then I just started listing, haha): Metallica, Black Sabbath, Dream Theater, Megadeth, Rage Against The Machine, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Tenacious D (in keeping? haha), Slayer (an acquired taste, to be sure), The Sleepy Jackson, Beethoven, Bach, some of Mozart's work, Grieg, Cacophony, some of Andrew Lloyd Webber's work, Nirvana, Queen, Parkway Drive (similar to Slayer in this regard), Ozzy Osbourne, The Nightwatchman (well, it is Tom Morello's solo work in a Bob-Dylan-esque fashion...how could I not like it!), some of Micheal Jackson's work, pretty much anything Micheal Kamen had a big hand in, Meatloaf, Marilyn Manson, Kiss, Johnny Cash, all of Jimi Hendrix's work (this is including the Band of Gypsies), everything of Iron Maiden, some of HIM's work, some of Halifax and Motley Crue's material, Guns 'N' Roses (when Slash was still in the band), Foo Fighters, the occasional DragonForce song, The Doors, Dio, Deep Purple, Cream, CKY, Buckethead, some of Brand New's more expermental material, Bob Dylan, Blue Oyster Cult, Black Keys, Apocalyptica, Ayreon, Alice Copper and AC/DC.
bows down at Sam's post... you are such a F**** rockstar... at least when you finnaly get here (if nothing else)we will all be able to enjoy each others music ;D
