Witchcraft (Magic) has always been akin to science. Medical Researchers today are still doing what witches used to do; looking for new healing drugs, new healing treatments. Try to get a visit to a medical laboratory, and you will see magic working before your very eyes. I've been there; it's fascinating!
Okami, there are actually 2 ways they take pictures of auras. The ones at new age festivals are usually fake. You can test this by taking a picture when no one is standing there and you'll still see an aura. However there is a method that involves UV rays. It is completely safe as long as you don't over use it taking in too much radiation. It does this by maping out the radiation given off and so the person just comes off as an outline. It does see frequency (color) and the amplitude. This technique has been used for some medical research and may air may not be found at a new age festival however I don't believe it's been used for official diagnosis. They have noticed how the variations in the aura associate with body conditions, personality factors, ect...
There is also another instrument that shows an organisms "life force". It's a work in progress but you can find some videos and articles with a quick google search.
This post may be from last year but I wanted to add my two cents on the subject. Magic was and is science. Historically anything unexplained was considered magic, but over time we have learned more about the world and most magic has become scientific fact. Even the common belief that magic is a force or energy can be explained like science. Maybe one day we will understand how this magical energy works, but as of right now, it's still seen as a belief.
The problem of Science;scientists;medical researchers; is that they do not like the words "magic" and/or "witchcraft". But, just about every "discovery" of a new drug or treament was found by witches hundreds of years ago! Take a simple, but powerful, drug,Aspirin. That is merely a modern name for a drug used by witches for thousands of years! Salacylic Acid. The witches did not have a name for it; but they knew what it did!
And by the way,Tadashi.Magic is not a belief. It is very real! I can demonstrate magic; and have done many times over the years. But I cannot demonstrate a "belief"!
If anyone wants to meander from the original point with me a bit, what are our thoughts on Science and Religion? Are they conflicting, or complimentary forces? I'll hold on my thoughts for now, I want to see what others have to say first.
