I believe that having the idea that "stereotypical necromancy,
which would be disrespecting spirits(for some unknown reason)
and raising the dead for minions," is egotistical.

Necromancy traditionally includes ways to raise the dead. Not to teach raising one type with out the other is negligent. For if you do not understand how to raise them you can never understand how to put them back. As for disrespecting spirits for personal reasons that is in the eye of the beholder. There are times when you need a little help in a task and having a minion or several helps with that. Remember though a minion will come of their own free will.

Dae but do you teach about the essence of death?

Kts, perhaps you should do more research.
The idea of raising the dead
came from people who misunderstood the name of the art.
They used their ignorance for the sake of stories
and in doing so altered people's view on necromancy.

Faust, to be honest, I don't know.
Perhaps more research will be required
before I can say we are a true necromancy coven.
What would you say the essence of death is?
If you mean the process of death,
including how the spirit leaves the body
and where it goes afterwords,
then yes, we teach that.

thank you m.d
for your excellent description and no need to apologise i was not offended just one point though you speak of spirit or soul being given back memories of past lives gaining wisdom but why is this neccessary in the spirit realm i would have thought the object of our existance to grow that wisdom here in the material realm otherwise what would of our existance be?? reading what you wrote however has got me think anew on this a strange thought has just occured to me this usally signifies my dragon mentor has some input so i leave now to meditate

The older you get the more likely you are
to be caught in a 'one way lifestyle' type situation.
When you are young you must experiment with everything,
learn from the start about everything,
and so for the sake of learning
a spirit sets aside the memories gained in past lives
when he/she reincarnates.

Besides that,
those memories are stored in the soul as 'soul memories'
and not in the brain,
which is why we can't access them while we live.
However, with enough meditation and hypnotherapy,
it is possible to regain those memories while you are alive.
Generally your spirit guides will help with this
if they feel you are ready to remember certain things.

When we reincarnate we generally do so
with the goal of learning a certain lesson.
For example a spirit that is impatient
may incarnate as a monk,
or rather someone who is in the location and family
where he/she will likely become a monk,
so that he/she can learn patience.

Amusingly enough,
even amongst spirits there are those who need to learn
that appearances are not important.
Those are generally the younger ones though.

The "term raising the dead" comes from the form of necromancy where you use death energy to bring to life the energy you need to do a magical working. You raise the death energy around you and breath it into the grave you are by, therefore raising the dead in super spirit form. Weather you can see it or not it is there. With this energy it brings them back to a form that is able to help you magically.

That is why I said, "I believe that having the idea that 'stereotypical necromancy, which would be disrespecting spirits(for some unknown reason) and raising the dead for minions' is egotistical".

It is egoistical to think that the only reason one raises the dead is for minions and unknown reasons. ;)

Oh, I see what you're saying now.
I don't consider spirits to be dead though,
so in my opinion and from my point of view
that doesn't count.

I was talking about animating corpses and whatnot.

I do disagree with that first paragraph
of your last post to some degree.

For one, you don't have to be by a grave at all.
Spirits are everywhere,
you just have to know how to find them.
Also they wouldn't have to be in any superior spirit form,
they just have to be spirits already.

And I don't believe in 'death energy'
since death would be cold and lifeless
while energy generally has a level of movement.
Even ice holds movement,
only death does not.
I would consider the energy used in necromancy
to be life energy of a sort,
or residual life energy if you are by a grave
and using a corpse as a means to contact a specific spirit.

I do not know a better way to connect with the spirit of a deceased person then to be at the grave side. Death energy has follow and movement just like all other forms of energy. Death energy though is a taking energy. When you work with it it will have effects on the body.

Traditional necromancy works with all forms of death energy to accomplish many different things. In some necromancy work it is needed to give the spirit things in which they can use to help themselves. That is how you breath live into them to help the situation. Place a sword by a warriors grave and he will be energized by it.

Ah, I see what you are speaking of now.
That death energy,
or rather it's effects,
are a myth.

Those effects have yet to be proven,
the ones on the body,
and I have met several skilled necromancers
who have not been effected in any such way.
I consider that to be more a part of stereotypical necromancy
since it coincides with what so many people
stereotype necromancy as.
