Not to hide them, but to get rid of them. You need your emotions to cast spells, if you get rid of them you might damage main chackra points and to use magick will be harder than usual. Also, to learn to hide them is good but not all the time. You need to let your anger out once in a while or will damage your health, if you need to cry do so, it releases stress, same with laughter. Emotions are needed as human beings, so hide them when it is call for in some situations, but not all the time. Fear is a good emotion to have since alerts you, in any case, all the emotions are good...the things is that you cannot exceed and when hide all the time you might explode or become apathetic which is no good. ^_^ I can be a very bad jerk because I am apathetic and do not feel sympathy for others, though i am empath ( that is why I keep away from some people when they are charge with emotions, they always look at me weird when I walk away from them) You might ask, how I can be apathetic and empath... ^_^ it is a mystery, but possible... I feel what others go through and bothers me because I do not feel sympathy for such pain, so I can be mean at times. But emotions are good.
The capacity for emotion cannot be gotten rid of. Emotions come Frome a physical state, arousal (not horny, elevated heart rate respiration and other stress response) for anger, lust, affection, fear, and joy. Physical depression (decreased synapse firing speed, low heart rate ect) can bring on a feeling of peace or sadness. As long s you have a body, you can feel.
Yes, they can be controlled safely! Steered, not totally, like a care, more like guiding a horse or a team of horses. The emotions come from how we REACTto what we THINK about what happens.

Yes, you can hide them! Your actions words and body language tell others what you are feeling. So control those and you hide your feelings. That is a real art form. Easier, use magic or telepathic/hypnotic suggestion to project and image of you feeling the way you want to be perceived.
They can also be ignored or denied, but that is dangerous and other people will notice.
Best practice, in my humble opinion: get to a state of complete calm through meditation. Decide what your goal is. Develop a plan. What actions will get you there. Decide what emotions would drive you to take those steps. Decide what thoughts will make you feel that way. Think those thoughts.
are you sure? cause i think i'd be better of without them. the only thing i don't want is to lose intrest in my studies and love for T.D. and G.M.D but apart from that, i would kill my emotions without caring
Sense we are bringing up this forum from way back in the day, I would have to tell you that is only a matter of ones opinion, in my opinion you can't rid your self of emotions or hide them magic(k)ally. Emotions are very powerful....they help fuel some of the spells casted, those related to emotional magic(k) and Elemental magic(k).
Rather than forcibly removing your emotions, I would recommend working on managing them naturally. Meditation is especially good. If that doesn't work, there are many medicines that can help with an overemotional mindset.
