Blocking the effects is a must in necromancy. That should be one of the first things you teach in your coven. At least that is what I was taught. To each his own though.

I was never taught that and I have no problems.
I believe it is a myth that is only true
if you truly believe it to be so.
Much like the workings of most magick spells.
Who knows,
maybe some people even like those effects,
considering them to somehow be a badge of experience.

That very well could be. The mind is very important in magic, perception is your reality and things are not always what they seem. That is why it is important to keep a good head on your shoulders. An open third eye and crown are a excellent way to expand your understanding.
I still think proper protection is a smart idea when working with death energy or any magic. Perhaps that is due to my soul not wanting to bare the burden if something happened. Safety first in all magic including life :)

sorry to seem to be picking on you m.d but you do pose some interesting insights but tell me seeing as some academics claim it possible the genetic code that is passed for one generation to the next also may carry memory imprints so can we be so sure that meditation and hypnosis is not actually releasing these memories of our ancestors rather than past lives of ourselves and if not how can we tell between the two

Kts, that is something I can definitely agree with you on.
Safety first.
GreyMagi, for many that may be a possibility,
however some may have found past lives
in which that would be impossible.
For example,
a friend of mine who was on this site as Ragnorok
found that he was a reptilian alien one in his past life.
He has found more and more details on it
and will hopefully start writing a book about it soon.
Also,
through hypnosis they have found the cycle of the spirit itself;
how it leaves the body,
where it goes after leaving the body,
where it ends up finally,
and then what it does after that.
Furthermore,
most people who find more recent past lives
can look up the person they found online
and find whether or not they were related
as well as whether or not that person was real.
From an open-minded point of view,
I will also add that it is possible
that all this has come from an imaginative subconscious.
Both meditation and hypnosis, after all,
involve looking into the subconscious of an individual.

I believe they are different. The genetic code that is passed form one generation may be able to carry memory imprints but it is different than past life experiences. It is common for personality tendencies to pass form one generation to the next or even skip generations. Also their is the phenomena of combining traits from different generations. A person's personality is shaped by many things experiences are a big influence. I see different experiences of my ancestors and can see that they are theirs and not mine. Meditation and clues hidden in the visions will help you to figure out which is which. It is also common not to have past life experiences due to the idea of a new soul. As the population grows more souls have been moved from other forms to human forms. There is a gap in the recall for it is hard to sometimes see the experiences of a none human creature. The further you get from a creature with similar structure the harder it is to connect to those memories

hi folks
i asked my dragon mentor (it was windy yesterday in manchester) on this multiple lives discussion and his reply was you meaning me has cup the cup the is your mind or soul each day you live you fill the cup with water the water is your experiances and the full cup is your conscience mind or soul each night our whenever you empty the cup this is sleep into a bucket the bucket is the sub-consience mind or soul you repeat this until the bucket is full then what i asked you die he replied now you as spirit takes the bucket to the bath tub and empty it into it the bath tub is the next plane of existance how many buckets depend on the individual when the bath is full you have 2 choices bathe and transend or become a spirit guide in which you most return the bath water for someone else to fill then i asked about after the bath he laughed and said why early to bed so on that point i guess he answered there is an afterlife spirit guides alternate planes and enough answers to leave double the questions which i think end my curosity in this thank you all for contributions

That sounds about right,
although my beliefs differ slightly.
Could just be that I misunderstood a part of the metaphor,
but oh well.
I'm glad you found your answers.
Necromancy is a very delicate subject... Yes, we can talk to the dead, no we can't raise them. And in most cases, it is impossible to teach. In my case, I have no idea how. However, if you have any questions I am a necromancer.

It's not impossible to teach,
it just requires intelligent and understanding learners
as well as a very good,
and preferably experienced,
teacher.
