Paranormal question

I wouldn't consider this magickal, but it's weird.

My home state has been said to have the most paranormal activiy per square mile than any other state. I'm not sure the validity of it..but I have run into more than a few people who have encountered similar things.

There are spots surrounding the area I'm from that are like...time warps...worm holes. I'm not really sure what to call them.
I have had a few experiences driving to another town and found out many people have had the same. The trip should take you 1 hour at most. And that's if you drive under the speed limit. But many people have had it take up to 4 hours or more just to get there....or have gotten to the point where it has taken so long they turn back and are back in the city in no time.
What happens is this..when driving down the free way, cars seem to just stop being around you. Be it they sped up and disappear into the horizon or whatever. The scenery changes and you get a very spooky feeling. Nothing is ever the same. Things that should be there are not. Road that were never there suddenly appear.
It doesn't happen all the time, but I have met more than a handful of people who have had the same thing happen.
Granted...everyone, including myself has been..uhm...in a mind altering state. If you get my drift. But the odds of everyone experiencing this at different times is odd to me.

There is also another place on a bridge within my city that has had a cool thing or two happen.
While in the car my friend and I were talking and laughing, we crossed a section of the bridge and all of a sudden, we were back to where we had been 5 minutes ago as if nothing had happened and no time had passed. My friend and I looked at each other and were completely confused as to how it was even possible for it to happen.

Anyways...since I rambled on forever, I'm curious if anyone else has ever experienced such a thing. Or if anyone even knows what in the world happened.
