Work on protection by doing mojo on your self, your home, your cars, your pets, other members of your family, and anything else you hold dear. I find spell bottles work well for home and cars. A yard scattering for outside the house. Charms for people and pets are usually best if you can get them to carry them.

Hang bells or wind chimes to alert you to dangers. Through meditation and third eye work you can become familiar with your own shield and can tell when it has been damaged and needs repair.

Really you just need to find what works best for you. Some prefer crafts and some just energy work. I prefer crafts myself so if you need help with it feel free to ask how to do something.

Ok so, aside from the alerts and things of that nature, how do you know if someone has used magick against you?

Smells, sounds, some sort of imprint? ( I'm grasping at straws here lol )

to answer thehealer, some breaches are obvious.

Just as an example: in a friendly duel I was struck by a burst of energy (going on nearly a year ago lol) that had punctured my shield.

the area heated up drasticly, and began a dull throbbing.

if a person attacks you with energy, you can feel it if its strong. if they attack your emotional state, you may feel a sudden change in moods.

draining attacks cause you to feel extremely tired, more toxic ones can cause nausia or dizzyness.. depends on what hit you.

something more subtle like a curse or bad luck, you can pick up on it by events happening outside the normal for you.. Or if you can see auras or interperate energies you may see the change.

its relative, really

If your third eye is open you will be able to sense a magical attack. I myself have many different ways of sensing one; I will have a vision, smell sulfur burning, or just pick up on the clues the gods are giving me. The wind will tell me, the animals too, and even the earth will let me know when something isn't right.

I suggest using your intuition to help you. The gods gave it to you to help you in all aspects of life. Be in connection with it and use it everyday. It will keep you out of danger and help you move in the direction you are suppose to.
