My Prince (revised)

I'm sitting here,
writhing in agony,
as the time passes,
I hear thanks and congratulations,
but no one seems to understand,
I'm sorry,
I don't regret what I said,
maybe what I did,
I didn't want it to end,
I regret that things turned out this way,
I once caught a fallen angel,
now I writhe agony,
protecting you again and again,
taking pain meant for you,
but no matter what you did,
no matter what, I can't let you die,
you aren't crying out for me,
my heart is calling for you,
your words were so cold,
so hollow,
how many times did you say them,
to someone who was not me,
is my imagination really that small,
or were your declarations more lies,
I was honest at least,
kept every promise,
to be used and abused,
while you were the hypocrite,
love me,
love me not,
these confused feelings flow out,
I forgive you,
but you won't forgive me,
your voice,
sweeter than any music,
yet so bitter,
there is no pride in love,
I left mine at the door,
now I lay on the floor,
writhing in agony,
crying bitter tears,
what a terrible way for rose to die,
of a broken heart,
with a broken heart...
