Recycling Items

Well, I've fell out of magic practice and pretty recently have decided to get back into the swing of things.

I wanted to know if it's common practice, possible, practical (you chose) to reuse some items from completed spells.... a long while after you have casted. (i.e. stones, jars, bags, etc.) I recycle as a rule and can't quite help myself. lol.

So, curious as to anyone's opinions on whether or not you feel it "safe" or "good practice" to reuse certain magic items or if you consider it a completed and should be disposed of?

I was taught that items used in a spell should not be used for another purpose. The items absorb energy from the spell or ritual they were used for. I have heard of some people reusing items, only if it were for the same type of spell, but I have not done so.

Felt the same way.. may seem just like "duh" (come on, I'm sure there are TONS of people on here that think people's questions are just plain dumb, no matter how rude that is.) but when you're strapped for cash, you can't help but to wonder. ;-)

This seemed a question that should be answered. With the economy in the shape it's in who can afford unnecessary waste.

Yes, things can be reused. I have always done so and I can't tell that it's ever had a negitive effect on my Magick. I just cleanse the item of all energy associated with a previous spellworking. any standard cleansing spell will do. Of course you wait til the first spell has come to fruition before doing this.

The only item you can't do this with is something given in sacrifice to Goddess or God.

I forgot. To store the items til your original spell has come to pass, wrap them in a black natural fiber cloth, such as cotton or linen, etc. and put them away some place safe, such as a chest or drawer.
