I see them as two different things. Lucid dreaming is when you are dreaming and are conscious of that fact. Astral projection on the other hand is when your astral body and your consciousness leave the physical body and enter the astral plane. Lucid dreaming only explores your subconscious while astral projection occurs on the astral plane.
