magic & menstrual cycles

Does the menstrual cycle affect a woman's magic? If so, how? Should she perform a ritual or cast a spell during her periods or refrain?

some traditions actually say that magick is stronger during this time for a woman. and like wise the blood is tronger for spells, but all in all it is a personal preference
