Okay theoretically speaking if man made god and the belief in any god gives it strength wouldnt the belief in cthulu increase the probability of it's existance? since we decide who we worship and we give it strength and everyone starts suddenly following that path wouldnt that add to it even more? also another theory that's off base would be that if everyone believes in zombies and believes the world will end in them would that not also mean that by proxy we are making them real through group thought of the subject?
thoughts? and intelligent replies only please.
on another odd note 4 cults in ohio just got busted for murder 2 of which were called the children of yog-sothoth and the immortal dreamers.
You can most defiantly create a being through collective consciousness and thus feed it energy through belief and mass worship. However, that being is intangible. Zombies, for example, are not going to come forth since they would be a physical being.
Creating a thought form is a lot easier than creating a physical being just by thought.

I am torn upon the concept of God creation. From personal experiences, I have developed the belief that it is entirely possible for any spirit to "evolve" and attain a higher degree of enlightenment or power. This, particularly through worship most frequently, can result in individuals achieving god-like status. The Yoruba culture's Orisha and saints (as well as the saints within Christianity in general)( many of which are rooted in figures of African history, are great examples of this.
However, the worship of others certainly helps shape and empower an entity, and as was mentioned above the creation of a thoughform that is then fueled and empowered by others would generally result in a potent entity, perhaps of god-like quality.
It certainly makes for disturbing possibilities for anybody who believes too deeply in works of fiction, such as Cthulu.
And, as to your side note, why are all of the serial killers and crazies in the US? Blah.

I always thought that God or Godess figures were there to be recognized, not worshiped because I went to Church for a long time ang got tired of hearing that God is this way and we should all drop everything to worship him. That's just because I'm not the bow down and worship type.

All worship, beliefs, spirituality, etc., is a basic human need.Is there a God? We really do not know;but we hope there is.Throughout human history humans have questioned. There are only a few questions worth asking. Where do we come from;where are we going; and why? Humans look around at the mysteries of the universe and think,"How did it come to be? How was it created? Was it an accidental happening? Or was there a "Creator"?" In all our beliefs these are the answers we are seeking. The human Mind looks for patterns in everything, and there are patterns everywhere around us. Trying to interpret these patterns is what belief is all about. We are searching for Truth! Do we ever find it? Well, that is "belief"; Faith;. But, when all is said and done, we really don't know,do we? All we can do is but try, in all our many different ways.
Bright Blessings; no matter what you believe.
OH MY GOD! well millions o people believe the world will end in 2012 does that mean if there is enough belief... PEOPLE DON'T BELIEVE 2012 ITS NOT REAL AND IF THERE IS ENOUGH PEOPLE THAT BELIEVE IT WE COULD BRING IT ON OURSELVES!

Wait until 2012 passes, then you will know. Millions believed that every computer would crash as the year 2000 arrived. It didn't happen. Millions once believed the world was flat (some still do!). Some things prove to be untrue by facts. The ones that cannot be proved are beliefs.

Br8gent. Sorry, it is rubbish! No matter how many believe something, it will not make it happen. So, wait until 2012. It is not very far away. So I will make of you a prophecy. It will not happen.
also 2012 will most likely happen due to the fact that every major "world ending" event up until now has been brought on by man.y2k was people messing with computers, cold war was people with nuclear bombs so is it really that hard to believe that the planet could end it?
