Smnthing needs to be done

I have been a member on this site for almost 7 years now. When I first came to this site, it was a place for people, young and old, who wanted to learn about magic. They wanted to learn how to do it, learn about it, and then, with help, start practicing it themselves. The threads were filled with legitimate questions and legitimate answers. In the last few years or so I have, unfortunately, seen this behaviour decline slowly. The threads are now filled with teens, and tweens who want to know how they can turn into demons, werewolves, mermaids, vampires, shapeshifters and other such ridiculous things. They want to know how they summon such ridiculous things. They want to know how they control the weather, and shoot energy blasts, and set things on fire with their minds. They want to know how to travel to other dimensions,talk to dragons, and make wands that can levitate objects. Worst of all, there are those who come to the chatter and the forums and claim they can do and turn into all of things i just mentioned. This needs to stop. The roleplaying needs to stop. The fake spells that are submitted need to be deleted. I love this site, and have been a member for almost 7 years and I hate to see it steadily decline the way it is. I respect the mods and all that they do, and i understand that it takes time to fix these things, but like I said, something needs to be done. The people that come to this site need to be educated properly. There are those that come here and are very much so serious about learning magic. If me becoming a mod will help, i wouldnt mind coming to the site every day and reading over the spells submitted and deleting the obvious "fluffy" ones, or monitoring the chatter, and the threads. Like I said, Id really hate to see this site decline.

And for all of the people that read this thread and ACTUALLY ARE looking to summon or turn into some type of supernatural creature...Im here to tell you that it can not be done. And if you dont want to hear that, then please take yourself elsewhere to search how to become a vampire, or werewolf, or mermaid etc. The best we can do for you on this site, is to tell you it cant be done. If you are serious about learning what magic really can do and how to learn doing it, then by all means please stay and welcome to SoM, but for those who want to learn far-fetched things, this is not the site for you, or at least it shouldnt be.

I share much of your feeling, but the world of magic has been severely polluted by Hollywood. I wouldn't get mad at the ones inquiring, but steer them in the right direction, in time, they will learn. Now, the ignorant who make false claims, this should have no tolerance whatsoever!

And it's not just teens and tweens who fall prey to lack of understanding o.o I myself am 16, and know that much of those things are rubbish, it's experience.

That said, we need to clean up those who want to mislead for sure.

We cannot really protect the site, this is an open forum where anyone can post; even the idiots. But there are some who really do want to learn. All we "older ones" can do is to try and guide the young away from the impossible. the improbable,and the downright ridiculous. But the young will often argue; as the young always did! Even more so these days! When I was a child I could speak only when spoken to.Not so with modern children! And perhaps they are better for it.

your argument is based purely on your perspective only. you say that those who wish to speak to other entities and actually do things with magic, are roleplayers.

i dont quite understand as since when did you suddenly decide what is and what isnt?

It's because magic and witchcraft has become a fad, in either the US or the whole world and people see stuff like harry potter ad want to do stuff like that

I totally agree with heywhatsup123,many years ago i came to this site seeking answers and found them,then i left for a few years and rediscovered it this year.i started to go through the forums an spells and was appauled by some of the things that i read,i myself am still classified as a teenager and if i didn't know any better i would believe what i read.

Speaking to entities is not bad but 'plz help me turn into vam or werewolf' most people want these stuffz thats what most people here except few want

how do you turn into something that does not exist? how do you become a physical mermaid,vampire or werewolf? this things are just something that humans have imagined.
why does no one want to become something that already exists?
like a dog, a chair, a horse, a clown or something...
then if you succeed you can tell the whole world, and you will make a lot of money.
