The magick of asking.

Look at what they wear, mostly jewelry. And check their personality. But when you ask them about it start small and if it goes well later ask them if they are a witch.

anybe you can sense their energies. our energies tend to be stonger than mundanes

Well first of all I wouldn't plain out ask them they might think your a nutcase you know?

... or you could walk up them and show them symbols or something related to magick and ask them if they know what they are and if they don't know just tell you had a mythology test(this will only work if they're not in any of your classes.

i dont think there a sure fire way to tell without asking. you might have just picked up something that was inadvertently projecting. that sorta things happen sometimes. the best example of this is i can think of at the time is some one thing thinking a smidge loud in their head and then you pick up on it.

Spellchanter had a good idea with Jewelry. See if they are wearing a Pentagram.

How do they act?

What is their energy like?

Do they feel like a witch?

These are all the questions that you should ask. I suggest getting to know them before you come straight out and ask them; as you may sound a little crazy.
