Have you checked out livejournal? it's kind of Facebook News Feed, part forum, mostly blog. It takes a while to get set up there and get interesting people on your friend's page, but once you do it's super addicting. I have met the most incredible people on there.

Of course, my old roommate stole Pokemon Black from me, so I settled on using a rom. Not sure how I would wifi battle.
