You talking about the summoning charm from Harry Potter. It doesn't exist and is most likely impossible. However, there is one theory I have that could make it work. You may be able to mark or "tag" an object with magic which you could later "lock on" to in order to summon it. It may be possible to find an object through scrying or remote viewing (basically the same thing) and then summon it, though I suspect it would be very difficult if it can be done.
Note: By summoning I refer to the act of telekinetically guiding the object towards you, not teleporting it. I do believe teleporting is possible (please save your comments on such for another debate), but I don't know how and expect it to be incredibly difficult.
By the way, since it is possible (and done by many site members) to summon daemons/djinn from another dimension (well they have to come from somewhere) would it really be impossible to summon an object?
