how should i meditate

i want to meditate before i do a sun spell (sumone told me that i should start with one of the easest spells) but he also told me to meditate for an half an hour i dont no wat to do i meen when i close my eyes my mind wander through the many thoughts in my head i want yo no if just doing this is going to held i no i must focuss but on wat the spell im about to do how im going to do it it will help to get a clue about this

P.S.i am kinda new i want to get goin asap even if i just have to meditate for hours please respond

First relax,let the thoughts go,do not stop them,thoughts will go after few minutes.
After that concetrate on the spell.
