Necromancy Question
By:
Ok so necromancy is working with death energies right? So isn't necromancy also life energies too? A lot of people consider life and death to be the same thing myself included. Only a being that lives can die and only a being that dies can live. But I don't know a lot about necromancy and was wondering if I am right here.

I dont believe so. Necromancers work with the dead and death. They dont deal with life. Yes only a being that lives can die and only a being that dies can live, but dieing and being born are diffrent, for lack of a better word, "domains".

Wrong

Necromancy is divination through the dead, whether it be a dead corpse or a Spirit of the deceased.

Necromancy was a common practice by Ancient Seers to use the dead body as a way to determine omens and what is the best course of action

You know I wrote a whole article on what necromancy actually is. Its more than death energies /death essences. And contrary to popular belief its more than just dealing with the dead and the art of divination. Actually there's not a lot of divination used because you're researching what you see on the astral and following all sorts of various guides. To actually follow this particular path you have to be able to work with all sorts of energies including the environment around you.

To what I believe, is that there isn't a solid way for necro. There are so many versions out there that it is hard to tell what came before what. All I have to say is research and find common grounds between different types of necro and just work from there. Cause all necro is the same its just how we look at it. thats my two cents

Blessed be

Big picture: Life and Death are one. In practice, they are separate, but people take the definitions and terms too seriously so finding good authorities on the matter can be tricky.

Life and Death go beyond biological functions. They are cosmic forces demanding equal respect. People who try to say what necromancy is "actually" about generally don't know that they're talking about. I don't mean to say that they are incompetent, but that they aren't looking at magic properly. Any experienced practitioner can tell you many people use different terms and may define things differently, thus there isn't one system of any type of magic. Necromancy isn't an organized religion, there is no Big Book and there is no one way to do it. If you want to use it just for divination, fine. You can define or use it as you please, but if we want to use these terms to classify systems of magic then necromancy can be used to label any system or style utilizing death energy/working with the dead and death. Is it that hard to understand?

No. Just... no.

No, I cannot just define it as I please. I can't redefine necromancy to mean "utilizing death energy" any more than I can redefine xSol12x to mean "stupid breadstick."

And no, you cannot use necromancy to label any system utilizing death energy, because it already has a definition. The suffix of "-mancy" comes from the Greek word mantikos , which means "prophetic." The suffix of "-mancy" itself means "divination of the kind specified by the initial element"

Thus, necromancy means divination via the dead.

Simple English and using a dictionary - Is it that hard to understand?

ChironJackal- that was completely uncall for you could of made a point without the name calling. very childish.

Also you are right the word necromancy is "divination thru the dead" that is the exact definition one would fine on any dictionary website. but like alot of words used now a days they can hold multiple meanings and/or titles for things. i know some good examples but im not going to post them seeing as they are more of insults and not appropriate for this site.

also i did not use the word necromancy seeing as this is the precisely reason as to why, that is why i used only necro. personally i like to use the terms necro, necrkinesis, and/or necrokinetics
