It really depends on what you want to know. For the "potions and stuff" I would refer to herbalism, and books pretaning to that subject. Also, look for books that focus more on how certain herbs were used in magickal practices. There are plenty of books out there that focus more indepth on spells and how they work, inside and out. I am absolutely certain you can find one wherever they sell new age stuff :P
they can be harder to find, but there are books for advance studies. however, your BoS and learning through doing is actually the best way. depends on what you're interested in learning really. if you're looking into spells and potions, advanced one would be to pick up books that's nothing but spells, i have a couple that are kinda dumb wouldn't call spells, spell books. but there's some with more advanced spells. i think an advance from the basics, look into Scott Cunningham's complete book of incense brews and oils. at the beginning of each chapter he gives a quick background and a quick 'how to' then he begins listing off recipes for them.

For that you want to look into the old grimores and books on witchcraft. The older and more ancient the better. For egyptian/greek magick, you would look for the magical papyri. Budge has a few free ebooks on egyptian ritual work and religion. He's a little outdated and some of his translations are not entirely accurate, but you'll get a taste of what old magick consisted of. There is quite a lot of old grimoires of kabbalist (hebrew) magick, including the well know Greater and Lesser Keys of Solomon. I also always recommend Agrippa. I think he's a fantastic author but he speaks more on the internal mechanics of magick more so than actual rituals/spells. The Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses I find interesting. I've read through some of them. Crowley although insane was a genius and as long as you read his work with a analytical mind, you'll gain a lot of insight. He also rewrote many ancient rituals to fit his own style, such as the well know Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram.
It really all depends on what direction you plan to take. There are many, but I always suggest reading the ancient stuff to understand the difference between "neo" or "new age" magick and the *cough* real stuff. =)
There are a very rare few modern books I will ever recommend. In my opinion, most of it is garbage and will only shape you into a fluffy bunny.
If you're studying Wicca from what I know ever person or coven has its own ways of practicing. No two covens or solitaries are alike . The one piece of information which everyone is connected to is the Wiccan Rede. Those are the guide lines. You can pretty much have your own style from there. Or of course read books but in my own belief a book of shadows is a covens or solitaries best kept secret. Their not to be shared.
