Every time i try to meditate i get freaked out thinking something will get me or some dark entity or at least a scary one will show up and freak me out. Its not conductive to meditation as you may have guessed. I tried to make a shielding and good luck charm out of a old coin and that made me feel a little better but still worried or scared
dont feel that way, at the first time i opened my eyes every time because i was afraid something would get me by my back, but i have a trick that could get you more calm.
ok, try and light up a candle, think nothing is going to get me, and then think of nothingness, and your done.
this method had helped through this all time
so hope it would help
Ill try, and it doesn't help since me and my brother share a room he walked in on me meditating and i was listening to some music to help me calm down and keep me from imagining something scary or evil that might show up and then he walked up and since my music was to loud to hear him i near had a heart attack.
Meditating out in nature is wonderful. Is there a place you can go as to not be disturbed by your brother, nor anyone else? A favorite tree to sit under, or by some running water such as a stream or river. Try doing it at odd times when your brother is not around. You don't need a lot of time to meditate, so you might just get lucky finding that right spot for you. And remember to relax. Pay attention to your body, relaxing one thing at a time. I like to start with feet, going no further until feet are relaxed. Then legs, hips, hands, arms. Remember, go no further until each place is relaxed. Breathe easy, even count your breaths at first. Inhale 1q 2 3 4, exhale 1 2 3 4 5 6. Do this and your breathing will slow as relaxation takes over. Make sure to not forget your shoulders, back, and neck. Then go to face and forehead. When you breathe in, imagine good energy being drawn in. As you exhale, all negative goes out with it. You are relaxed. Enjoy the good feeling. You can stay that way for a few minutes. Do not fall asleep, as it is counter-productive of the meditation. Wait for an hour, then sleep if you want. But a true meditation should make you feel heavy with renewed energy. Not the running around kind, but to think clearly again, especially when stress is relieved. If this is your first, or so, time of meditating, don't worry about how you feel after. Each one seems to be a new experience. It does for me anyway. Good luck! Blessed Be...
don't worry, during meditation nothing negative can get you, they may try contacting you, but not attack you. if you feel worried the charm will help, cast a circle around you this will protect you from all negative beings. your body has natural defenses and will alert you of anything strange going on. one time while i was trying to meditate i could not go into a deeper state because Rori [spirit] was pacing around the room for some reason and for whatever reason i could not go beyond chakra work.
I recomend doing this relaxation ritual:
Lay or sit somewhere comfortable. Laying or sitting, make sure your legs and arms aren't crossed. Close your eyes and visualize a glowing ball of warm, golden light resting at your feet. As the ball of light sits at your feet, feel all tension leave your feet and fill with the warm golden glow of peace and total relaxation. Next, visualize the ball of light slowly making it's way up your legs, to your torso. Each place the light touches relaxes. When the light reaches your shoulders, visualize the light sink down your arms to your fingers. Continue moving the light until you reach your head.
