I am sick of some people that keep posting the same thing in each different section of the forum, which are false advertisements. They put the email of a person that helps with casting spells, and say that they help them. It is a scam and everyone knows it.
Can the moderators delete posts like this? I don't want these people to clog up the forums from people who actually post legit stuff.
Yeah, I just checked the advert section of the Forums and the same post is still there. I wish the Mods could delete them. Someone may fall for them. And like you said, this is a site where everyone learns how to spellcast? Can't they get that through their heads?

Advertisement Rules -
"If you plan to advertise a service or website, please note the following:
You are allowed a total of ONE thread regarding your service/site/whatever. If your website or service is mentioned by you in more then 1 thread it will be deleted everywhere and you will be banned from further postings."
Advertising a service can be a service provided by a spell caster whether contact is by website or email address. It's completely fine to do so. Yes, people will post advertisements in the wrong forum section, but this is why Editors, Moderators, and the Admin moves them to the Advertisement forum section where they belong. Note that in the decongestant paragraph of the rules quoted the "/whatever," this does not necessarily have to be your specific service despite seeming so. As long as the advertisement is within the advertisement rules and general site rules, it's perfectly fine. Otherwise, it is likely that the advertisement will be deleted - such as being spam posted.

When they spam other threads, it makes it impossible for editors to take care of it (by moving it to advertisements) and only a moderator can delete the posts. However, you may notice that within 24hrs they vanish. This isn't a disappearing act. As soon as a moderator is notified of a spammer, they gag and delete. It just won't happen immediately because the staff does have lives of their own. But the first moderator to see it does assess it, I assure you.
I am not sure if they are bots or if the site has a defense against bots and these are actual people wasting their lives spamming forums throughout the world wide web. It is very annoying but every forum experiences it. It's a problem where ever you go. And the more popular a board is, the more spammers will pounce on it.
They'll just create new accounts to spam with. I have noticed the threads tend to disappear, so even if it's not preventable, I appreciate that the mods are deleting them. The rest of us can help by warning people to beware and ignoring the threads.
Thank you both Vanitys and White for explaining how it works.
I appreciate the work that the editors and moderators do. Everyone has a personal life to lead and it is nice to know that editors and moderators spend time working here to make this a better place for all members.
Spam happens, as members we must be alert to the frauds out there and notify the appropriate people by mail about them. If we clutter up the forum with rants about it, we essentially make the job harder for the editors and moderators.
