payment for spells

when you cast a spell do you have to make like a payment for doing the spell for example on darker than black when they use there ability's the have to make a payment in return is it the same when casting spells

It actually depends on your personal path. There are a few deities and entities you could work with who require some kind of "payment". Mostly this takes the form of an offering in equal amount to what you are asking of them. For example, doing community service or pouring out a glass of wine into the earth. It varies from path to path.

But if you mean do you have to pay a price for just casting a spell, then no. I've never seen or heard of anything like that in real life. That's generally a fiction invented for drama, like in Darker than Black and a LOT of other anime & manga series, not to mention movies and TV.

Oh, but I should add that if you have someone else cast the spell for you or really if you are receiving any kind of metaphysical, magickal or psychic service, you should offer some kind of payment to them. Money is one form of payment but there are many people who work on a barter system. I use both for my Tarot Readings.

it depends. If you are calling on the angels a simple thank you is enough. If you pray to the saints then a donation to charity is usually expected. I once worked a ritual where a payment to charity was vital otherwise the ritual wouldn't work for you ever again. I think the most important thing is to always be grateful for everything you have. Thats the best payment there is.
